Kingfisher Cabin | Your Private Bush Escape

Tucked away amongst the bushland at Ben’s Falls Retreat, Kingfisher Cabin is your own private off-grid haven. A place for two to slow down, switch off and enjoy being somewhere that feels completely removed from everyday life.
Wake to the sounds of birds and the bush coming to life around you. Make a coffee and take it out onto the deck, wander down to the water, or simply stay exactly where you are with nowhere you need to be.
Kingfisher is cosy, private and made for couples. Spend the afternoon exploring the property, throw a line in the dam, take the kayaks down to the river or curl up with a book and enjoy the quiet.
Then, as the sun disappears behind the hills, light the fire, pour a glass of wine and sink into your private outdoor bath under the stars.
This is the kind of place where you can lose track of time.

Inside

Kingfisher has everything you need for a comfortable escape without taking away from the simplicity of being off-grid.

Plush queen bed with beautiful linen

Private ensuite with toiletries

Kitchenette with bar fridge and two-burner gas cooktop

Comfortable living space

Gas BBQ for easy outdoor cooking

Solar-powered, off-grid living

Step Outside

The best part of Kingfisher might just be what surrounds it.
Your cabin overlooks its own private stocked dam, with the river, waterfalls and acres of bushland waiting to be explored.

Private outdoor bath overlooking the dam

Firepit with BBQ plate and firewood provided

Private stocked dam

Around 2 km of private river frontage

Two complimentary kayaks

Swimming and beautiful secluded spots along the river

Walking and exploring throughout the property

Incredible birdlife and native wildlife

Keep an eye out for wallabies and kangaroos moving through the bush, deer wandering the property and the kingfishers that gave the cabin its name. If you're particularly lucky, you may even spot a platypus along the river.

Make It Yours

Kingfisher is beautiful for a quiet weekend away, but if you're celebrating something special, you can add a little extra to your stay.

Breakfast Box for Two

BBQ Box for Two

Gourmet Picnic Box

Pottery Paint Kit

Bring a picnic down to the river, cook dinner over the fire, spend an afternoon painting pottery together or do absolutely nothing at all.
There’s no Wi-Fi and very little to interrupt you here. That’s exactly the point.
Whether it’s an anniversary, honeymoon, birthday, surprise weekend away or simply some much-needed time together, Kingfisher gives you the space to reconnect with each other and with the beautiful surroundings of Ben’s Falls.
Slow down. Switch off. Stay awhile.

A Note About Fishing

We love being able to share our river with guests and ask that everyone helps us protect it.
River fishing is sports fishing only and strictly catch and release. Lure fishing with rod and line only. No bait fishing, droppers, set lines or hand lines are permitted, and no fish caught in the river may be kept or removed from the property.
From 1 September to 30 November, the river is completely closed to fishing for the Murray Cod breeding season. No fishing of any kind is permitted in the river during this period. Kingfisher guests can still enjoy fishing in the private stocked dam.
Please leave the river and property exactly as you found them and take all rubbish, fishing line and hooks with you.
These conditions are important to us and are part of staying at Ben’s Falls Retreat. Guests who do not follow our fishing or property rules may have their stay ended and be asked to leave the property.
We simply ask that you love and respect our little piece of the world while you're here, so we can continue sharing it for years to come.

Kingfisher Cabin - AKA Tiny House

Stayed for 3 nights with my partner, absolutely loved it. Stunningly beautiful location, photos do not do it justice. Everything is there ready for you, just bring your food and clothes and you’re all set. Definitely will be coming again!!

My partner and I spent out anniversary weekend at Kingfisher cabin and it was an amazing place to disconnect from everything going on and spend some time with just us. With beautiful countryside all around and an amazing view of the storms rolling in of an evening, I highly recommend this for a little weekend getaway. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Anniversary location

I surprised my husband with a night in the Kingfisher Tiny home for his Birthday. It was absolutely perfect! So relaxing, peaceful and fun. Fishing and rock hopping along the most serene river with spectacular waterfalls was a highlight. The cod are beautiful, healthy and plentiful. We had so much fun surface fishing at dusk. Star gazing at night with a beer, topped off the night! The facilities are comfortable, clean and warm for the cooler months. We definitely recharged our batteries in style. Allana is the perfect host. We will definitely be back with the kids next time at a warmer time of year for swimming.

Perfect surprise birthday

Absolutely beautiful, we had perfect weather for a little getaway just the 2 of us. The cabin was so warm and cozy, just to relax and think about nothing and to fine ourselves again. We feel so refreshed after staying and ready to tackle home life again.
But just before leaving my partner decided it was the best time to propose at the magnificent waterfalls.
Ben falls will definitely hold a big spot in my heart ❤️. Thank you to Allana and her husband for being wonderful hosts and sharing there beautiful piece of paradise with us.

Absolutely amazing! My partner and I spend a 1 year anniversary here and we loved it. Although we couldn’t catch a fish. We enjoyed the hick veiw and definitely the deer. It was awsome for a change of scenery 10/10 recommended. Will definitely be back.
