Chalet Truman near Lac de Montriond & Ardent Lift

We had a wonderful stay at Chalet Truman by Lake Montriond and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic mountain experience.

The chalet has a charming rustic character that makes it feel warm, welcoming, and full of authenticity. At the same time, it is perfectly equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, making it easy to feel at home from the moment you arrive.

The location is another major highlight. It is peaceful and quiet, away from the crowds of tourists, yet still conveniently close to all the main amenities and attractions in the area. It offers the perfect balance between tranquility and accessibility.

Communication with the owners was excellent throughout. They were friendly, responsive, and easy to reach whenever we had a question. The arrival and departure instructions were clear and well organized, making the whole process smooth and stress-free.

Overall, Chalet Truman offers outstanding value for money. If you're looking for a genuine alpine retreat in a beautiful setting, this is an excellent choice. We would definitely stay here again.

Authenticity & rustic charm

Absolutely lovely chalet in a stunning setting. Several fantastic restaurants within walking distance. The beautiful lake nearby was perfect for swimming and paddle boarding. We particularly enjoyed cocktails at the restaurants taking in the scenic view of the lake and mountains.
It is well located within a few minutes drive of the gondola to visit Goat Village and in the other direction about 15 min away Montriond had some lovely shopping and restaurants plus a big supermarket.
The chalet itself has everything you need, comfortable beds and linen, kitchen with all the pots, plates, glassware you need… Bonus of super fast internet!
We thoroughly enjoyed this chalet!

Absolutely lovely chalet in a stunning setting

Many thanks to Steve and Annie for such a lovely space to stay. The summer was a perfect time to enjoy the sunshine, the views and vistas around and the heat - though a number of degrees cooler than down in the valley! The chalet cooled down in the evening, especially the lounge, which made it a perfect escape from the summer warmth - we hit the heat wave when there, so really appreciated the coolness.
The Chalet is perfect. The bedrooms well stocked with hanging spaces, hooks and places for everything to be stored and the beds are really comfy - especially after walking the mountains and valleys round and about. The chalet is spacious and the kitchen and lounge downstairs have ample settees, chairs and spaces to chill and chat including its own outdoor spaces. Loads of games and stuff to amuse was welcome to while away the time inside.
The kitchen is well equipped and lots of space for fridge, freezer and cupboard stuff if cooking is your thing - it is ours. We were delighted with the range of knives and cooking equipment. Couldn't have asked for more!
So many things to do in the area in Summer (and winter, I am sure). The town below known for its skiing becomes a mountain bike centre with so many hire or repair places for when there is a need. The ski lifts were well equipped for taking bikes and cyclists and walkers up to the routes throughout the day. The tourist office was really helpful and spoke a number of languages. Lots of event planned for the summer - we were there for the 100km run across the mountains. We watched them run past on the road next to the Chalet. The lake, just a short 10 minute walk from the chalet, was beautiful and there were a range of restaurants and bars to suit all needs. There are activities on the lake too in season. Kayaking the placid waters was both cooling and fun as was swimming its waters. The cascade (waterfall) 20 minutes walking up the mountain was a great place for a picnic and stop for lunch before walking one of the many paths to further afield.
Lots to see and do in the area - visiting the mountain top (Avoriaz) to see the views, cafes, restaurants aplenty. Walking, biking and relaxing. Towns further afield reachable by car within an hour or more - a trip on the lake at Annecy is well worth it! Lots of information in the chalet about things to do and see.
You seem to have thought about virtually everything for both summer and winter! Amazing place to stay, to chill and relax and be a centre of what's on around. Will definitely be back.

Lovely Place to Stay

We had a fantastic time staying in this beautiful chalet before Christmas. It is rustic, cozy and situated in a peaceful spot by the lake and woods. Perfect for a fireside relaxation, with a glass of wine, after exploring the incredible Alps. A short drive to the Ardent cable car takes you into the heart of the Portes Du Soleil, which is very convenient. We had the best time here and can’t wait to stay again!

Chalet Truman was truly an unbelievable experience. The house was so close to the lake and gondola but also far enough to feel completely tucked away. The house is cosy and quirky with all its antique items but also modern and comfortable. Overall this is the perfect chalet for an amazing holiday and to make many memories.
