GETTING HERE
Powell River is on the mainland but isn't connected to the provincial road network, so driving from Vancouver takes two ferries: Horseshoe Bay to Langdale, then Earls Cove to Saltery Bay. In summer, reserve the Horseshoe Bay to Langdale sailing; reservations aren't available on the Earls Cove to Saltery Bay leg.
By air: Pacific Coastal Airlines flies from Vancouver airport, and Harbour Air flies from downtown Vancouver to Powell Lake. The Harbour Air dock is next to The Shinglemill Pub and Bistro, where you check in, about 10 minutes from Powell River's city centre.

Sitka Suite at Arbutus Cove Retreat, family oceanfront

This is perhaps our favourite Airbnb ever. Our young family of 5 stayed in the Sitka suite and it was very comfortable and spacious. The view off the deck was absolutely incredible! Top that off with a wood burning fireplace, and it made for the coziest, most beautiful place to relax. What a gem.

Perhaps our favourite Airbnb ever

We had a wonderful stay at Sean and Jenny's place. The suite was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, fully stocked and immaculately clean! The beds and linens were incredibly comfortable! We loved the quality robes available for us and the personalized letter upon arrival. The owners did a wonderful job with the details in the suite! The Dyson fans kept us cool during very hot weather. We loved every moment of our getaway! We would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back!!

We loved every moment of our getaway

Quite possibly the nicest most well thought out airbnb experience. Impeccably clean, thoroughly stocked with every amenity you could need. Gorgeous ocean views, amazing patio and the nicest ocean front sauna you could ever imagine. Cozy fireplace with kindling and fire starter pucks were provided. Smart tv automatically logged in with guest accounts to every service. My only question going in was ‘is there a way to make coffee in the morning’ and there are three coffee options available - french press, coffee maker and nespresso. Can’t wait to come back!

Quite possibly the nicest Airbnb experience

We had such a delightful stay at Sean and Jenny's lovely Powell River home. The home and location exceeded our expectations, and provided such a perfect spot for our family vacation. The comfortable bedrooms, well stocked kitchen, and spotless bathrooms made our stay so pleasant. And Sean and Jenny were extremely helpful in every way - from answering questions, to providing all we needed - we couldn't have asked for better hosts. Powell River is quite a trek from our home in Washington state, but the trip to their place was so worth it! We hope to return to this magical slice of paradise! Thank you to Sean and Jenny for making this family vacation a memory we will cherish forever.

A magical slice of paradise

This place is a gem. Stunning views, comfortable beds, tasteful decor and a well stocked, very large kitchen! There were 6 comfortable Muskoka chairs on the large deck overlooking the ocean which we really enjoyed. Sean and Jenny are very responsive and ready to go above and beyond for their guests. There is lots to see and do in Powell River and some great options for eating out as well. We would love to come back to see more of this area and we would definitely return here. Well worth the two ferry trips up from Vancouver. Very highly recommended!
