The property has Twin Creek, a free stone headwater running through the center of the property into the Gold Medal waters of the South Platte River. At 8,000 feet elevation, the cabin has direct access to Pike National Forest right out the front door and within walking distance of world class gold medal waters. The Home’s 2 bedrooms both offer warm, comfortable sleeping quarters for up to 4 guests. The primary bedroom is spacious, open, and bright. In the fall, you can take lunch and hike from the cabin to the South Platte River to see large Brown Trout returning to spawn.&nbsp;&nbsp; In the Fall of 2025, we had a Bull Moose on the property standing in Twin Creek.&nbsp;&nbsp; It’s also a great time for leaf peeping on the property, in the canyon or in the National Forest. All wheel or 4 wheel drive is recommended particularly during the months of October through April. A Very Detailed Digital Guestbook is Available Upon Request and Upon Booking!</p>

Fallen Tree Lodge

The cabin is so beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, and ideal!  It is so clean, nicely decorated, comfy, and perfect for a getaway.  Bart was super helpful, friendly, and responsive; he put us in touch with a fantastic guided fly fishing trip.  The amenities of the cabin were outstanding.  We were so impressed with the extra lengths Bart went to; from all kinds of food, a super complete kitchen setup with a Keurig, a regular coffee maker, pots/pans, cutlery, oil, seasonings, you name it- it was just so thoughtful and made us feel right at home.  The king bed was incredibly comfortable, it has a great mattress and we slept like babies.  The internet is super fast, streaming was set up on the TV, it was perfect for relaxing after exploring the outdoors all day.  Most importantly, the cabin is surrounded by beautiful land, everywhere you look are trees and expanse.  All you can hear sitting on the porch is the sound of the wind.  It is so incredibly peaceful there.  We will be back.

Fantastic Guided Fly Fishing Trip

Solid Spot for a few fisherman looking for a place to stay.  The place had everything by we needed and was spotless when we arrived.  Bart was super friendly and quick to respond if I had questions.  I will absolutely book this place again.

Solid Spot

Truly peaceful get away, you can hear the water nearby at night.  It's very quiet and peaceful, in addition to that the scenery is beautiful.  The views, the drive and the scenery just topped it all off.  Bart was very responsive and helpful, he gave lots of insight for the area and it was great to have someone to answer the questions I had. 10/10 recommend.

Hear the Water nearby at Night

This Lake George cabin is a lovely spot to spend time while fishing 11 mile Canyon and a lovely place to hang out.  Communication was excellent with the host.  The location could not have been more perfect.  Away from the crowds and set amongst a wonderful forest.  I would highly recommend!

Fabulous

Where do I start.  Deafening quiet (just what we needed as we live in central Houston), peaceful, very, very well laid out place up in the "mountains" of Colorado AND for anyone who likes to fish, just 15 or so minutes away from car to the beautiful 11 mile river.  We drove it our first night and the views were breathtaking.  It takes about 20 - 30 minutes each way through the park that is literally across the road from the house.  We hired Angler's Covey two days and caught trout ranging from 12" to 22" in the river.  Drove to Buena Vista and fished with Ark Anglers another day; it was totally worth the drive as we went to an "upper lake."  If you like to fish, this is THE place to go.  We went by ourselves two days and just had a so-so time as we were there during Labor Day weekend and things were kinda crowded.  Plus how does one know where to fish on a 11 mile river?  Spend the money and hire the guide, at least for the first day.  My wife enjoyed speedy WiFi, coffee and reading a couple of books.  Grocery stores were about 20 minutes away and the house had pretty much everything you could want.  By the way, the write up doesn 't say it but the house was less than 6 months old.  It is not your tired and old cabin by any stretch of the imagination.  We enjoyed eating outside on the large picnic table and just trying to take it all in.  Was a fantastic stay, great, host and just what we needed - totally recommend!!
