Relax with friends oryour familyat this peaceful place in Alyth in Perthshire,a superb gateway to the Scottish Highlands. The small town offers an abundance of cycling and walking routes, with the quiet glens of the Cairngorms National Park to the north, as well as the farmlands of the Valley of Strathmore in the south.
You will have access to the whole house, the bike shed and a drying green in front of the house.
The two main bedrooms are set up with a double bed and plenty of wardrobe space. The third bedroom can be used as single bedroom or office, with a folding desk and chair provided. The bed in this room consists of two bedframes and mattresses stacked on top of each other. The second frame can be used as second bed in the room, but the space is small. If staying with 6 people the downstairs living room can be used as alternative fourth bedroom, the comfortable couch can easily be turned into a double bed (with all bedding provided).

Forillon 3-bed house with great access to outdoors

I had an excellent stay at Forillon this winter. The accommodation had plenty of space for us (a couple and newborn). Everything was clean, beds were comfy, and overall I found the place to be cozier than the pictures indicated.

Alyth is small but full of local delights. The butcher around the corner is great for meat or fresh pies, the chippy had excellent fish and chips and a new honesty box around the corner had really good baked goods and fresh duck eggs that made for a brilliant omelette.

We made use of Markus' recommendations and did one of the local walks each morning and I spent a few hours out cycling cycling on 2 different days. Both routes were really enjoyable with some off road sections, and all the road bits on nice quiet roads. The guys at Alyth Cyclery were very friendly and helpful. I look forward to coming back!

Great winter stay

My wife and I spent a week at Forillon, a welcome respite from the bustling city life. It was particularly meaningful for my wife, as she celebrated her birthday during our stay. The spacious, comfortable, and tranquil house provided the perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The house is equipped with all the modern amenities, making our stay convenient and hassle-free. Additionally, its commitment to sustainability, with easy recycling options, was commendable.

As an avid cyclist, I was delighted to find secure bike storage in the shed, complete with hooks for three bikes and basic tools. While bike washing facilities were not available on the premises, Alyth Cyclery kindly allowed me to use their hose and cleaning equipment. The owner's friendliness and helpfulness epitomized the warm and welcoming attitude we encountered throughout Alyth.

Our host, Markus, ensured our comfort and provided invaluable suggestions for activities and attractions. His recommendation of blueberry picking on my wife's birthday turned out to be a delightful experience. She thoroughly enjoyed the meditative act of berry picking, and we had the added satisfaction of supporting local charities through our efforts.

Exploring the surrounding area on my bike was a personal highlight. The Cateran Gran Fondo Road adventure, with its 100 km of cycling bliss, was truly exceptional. The scenic roads and minimal traffic made for an unforgettable journey. While it's surprising that this area isn't overrun with cyclists, I appreciate its tranquility. I explored some of the gravel routes, which left me eager to return for more.

Beyond cycling, we also enjoyed walking in the beautiful Den O' Alyth, the Hill of Alyth, and the Bamff wildlands.

In summary, Forillon served as the perfect base for exploring this extraordinary part of Scotland. Our week-long stay left us relaxed, refreshed, and energized. I highly recommend this property and would happily give it a 5/5 rating, with the intention of returning in the future.

A great base for exploring an true gem of a location.

We had an excellent stay at The Forillion. The house is centrally located in Alyth and is equipped with everything you could need. We came as a group of three, and all the rooms were spacious, with two full-size bathrooms being a bonus. It truly felt like a home away from home.

The location is ideal for cycling or walking, with an abundance of trails and cycle routes in the stunning countryside surrounding Alyth. Markus was quick to respond to any questions I had and provided helpful advice on cycling routes, which was much appreciated.

We discovered a little gem nearby: The Alyth Hotel, just a short walk from the property. It offers excellent food, a good range of beers, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. There are plenty of shops in the area, so you won't run short on supplies

Excellent stay

Forillion is a fabulous location! Close to necessities. Quiet back street. Great surrounding area for biking &amp; hill walking.
And a wonderful bike shop close by as well.
