Amazing getaway for the weekend

I absolutely love the owners and their property! Madhuri was extremely helpful and professional when it came to making a booking for a girls getaway. As for the property is was amazing! It is minutes away from Watkins Glen, and many of my favorite wineries. The home is wonderfully decorated and each guest was not only impressed with the space but comfortable. 

If you are looking for a getaway, Bliss of Burdett should be on your list! I look forward to returning for many years to come.

Blissfully Unbothered

My husband and I stayed here with our two dogs and it was wonderful! Madhuri was so accommodating when we had questions or needed help and also made some great recommendations for things to do in the area. She even left us a bottle of wine from a local winery :)

We had a slight issue in the beginning where our check in was delayed because the guests before us had left the home in disarray and the cleaning crew didn’t have enough staff or time to have the house prepared in time— it was New Year’s Day, so this was totally understandable. Throughout this little hiccup, Madhuri was deeply apologetic and communicative. She allowed us to get settled in even though the cleaning crew was still finishing up and then was very open to feedback while we made her aware of some minor details of the home that clearly the previous guests had been responsible for. Word to the wise: when you’re staying at someone else’s home with hosts as kind and thoughtful as Madhuri, treat the home with the same kind of kindness and care. 

The home itself is spacious and beautifully designed, with super comfortable beds, a lovely fireplace, a huge kitchen, and a wonderful hot tub on the back deck. The hot tub was definitely the highlight— we’ve been to a lot of vacation homes where the hot tub is usually lukewarm. Not the case here! High quality tub that starts hot and stays hot!

The kitchen has plenty of room for meal prep if you want to stay in. Large fridge, lots of counter space, etc. There are definitely enough utensils and pots and pans in the kitchen for most simple meals cooked in the oven or on the skillet, but if you’re a fancier cook you might want to bring some extras. There were basic necessities like cooking oil, a handful of spices, plastic wrap, an extra roll of paper towels, dish soap, etc. 

All bathrooms are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash— it was nice to not have to travel with these bulkier items. There was enough extra TP for our stay of 4 nights. Water pressure was great,

The location is great. You’re so close to arguably one of the best strips of wineries and breweries— too many to choose from! And if you have dogs, the large yard was great for getting them exercise. You’re also very close to numerous hiking areas. 

Would highly recommend staying here when traveling to this area! You’ll have trouble finding other homes of this quality priced as fairly and I bet you won’t find a host like Madhuri, who goes above and beyond the make your stay comfortable.
