Blue Heron Lodge

Thankyou for our wonderful 4 day stay at your amazing lodge. We came here for Christmas and we have never been away for Christmas before. I was a little worried it wouldn't feel festive being away, but when we arrived the decorations, lights, tree, gifts for the kids, gift for the dog, hamper and more absolutely blew us away. The lodge is beautiful and all the things you have thought of / "might needs" is just wonderful. The dog absolutely loved the freedom out the back. I loved the stream each morning with my coffee, it is so peaceful. You are both so lovely too and came with Champagne on Christmas day. Thankyou! The little things like Christmas blankets on the kids beds made the stay so special. Also the festive glasses and hamper full of festive treats. I can not find one negative things to say.Everything is just perfect! We will be back, happy new year!

A wonderful 4 day stay!

Thank you for creating such a calm, cosy environment for us to stay! We really enjoyed our break and definitely feel relaxed and refreshed going into the New Year.We had no negatives about the lodge, it was perfect! Would love to return. Liam, Caitlyn, Orla and Gabriel.

What a wonderful lodge, a gem of a find and highly recommended. My husband and I (and our two dogs) had a very pleasant stay with fantastic views, accommodation and facilities, everything you would need and like (and more) for a relaxing break away as a couple, family or group of friends. Debi and Stuart had thought about the customer experience very well and the lodge was first class with a fantastic renovation inside and out. The accommodation was comfortable to stay in, including the beds, although would have preferred to have been able to alter the heating ourselves rather than opening windows (remotely controlled, everyone’s heating requirements may differ). We took our PS5 so we could log in to our Netflix, Sky Go, listen to music, or play on the console as desired, though Netflix etc is available within the lodge TV. The hot tub was very well maintained, one of the cleanest we’ve been in, and was very relaxing taking in the breathtaking views. Although not a problem for our dogs, as there’s a bit of a drop down into the river and they wouldn’t tend to launch themselves into it, but for some dogs it may be worth putting small barriers in place in a couple of sections to deter them. Our dogs loved being able to run around the large lawned area of the garden, and also walking up the drive daily to Brough Castle, Brough Farm and the Church grounds to explore. Kirkby Stephen only 8 mins in the car is a lovely town and has everything you would need. Would highly recommend Blue Heron Lodge and hope to come back in the near future.

A Gem of a Find

Perfect weekend with the family for my partners 40th birthday. Even the dog didn't want to go home.
Debi and Stuart are both brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. Can't wait to book again.
