The cool one, in every sense. La Casa Chilam is a private house vacation rental near Chacala, Nayarit, in the hill village of Altavista, and the only house on the property with air conditioning. It was the first casita ever built on Cerrito Encantado, recently renovated, and it is where families and friends land: queen bedroom, a full-sized sofabed for the other two, and a kitchen that turns market hauls from the Thursday tianguis into long, loud dinners.

Mornings here start with birds and end with butterflies. Make coffee, wander the orchard, see what Tomasa has picked when the trees are giving; star fruit, mangos, whatever is ripe gets shared. The desk in the bedroom runs on Starlink that holds every video call, so one of you can work while the rest are at the pool pretending not to send photos. And when the afternoon heat rolls in, Chilam is the house everyone else on the hill quietly envies: door closed, AC on, siesta earned.

Evenings, walk up to the pool for the sunset, light the plancha in the outdoor kitchen, and let the dogs join the party; they will have adopted your kids by day two. On green season nights, the lightning shows over the valley have had grown adults cheering like kids.

Getting down here is part of the arrival. Standard car? Park up top on the main road and take the one minute walk down; our returning guests swear the hill is what keeps them young. Driving a 4x4 with good tires and a little nerve? Come all the way down and park at the house.

This is a hillside home in a real village: no restaurants in walking distance, a walk down to get in, and quiet nights that actually stay quiet. You cook in your full kitchen, shop in town, and on the days you don't feel like cooking, the colectivo taxi delivers food up from town. Best for guests with good mobility. If that sounds right, this house is yours.

Casa Chilam Private House near Chacala Nayarit

vista y lugar hermoso. Gracias por su apoyo

Una atención personalizada

The landscape is precious and it's very peaceful, I could rest a lot. The house was very clean and had everything I needed for my stay. Yassira was very supportive all the time. The place is pet friendly and my dogs spent a very good time either.

This place is a paradise!

I had to move my stay out by a few days. I figured I would just lose my money, but Yassira offered me the option of modifying my dates. It was incredibly gracious of her. Her home is beautiful. The view is magnificent. And I spent hours in the pool. The couple managing the property were a joy and equally gracious. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you so so much, Yassira! I am so grateful I was able to stay in your beautiful home! Also, I loved having the company of your happy friendly puppies every time I walked by!

Yassira was incredibly accommodating.

My boyfriend and I went on our first trip to Mexico and we stayed in this AirBnB. We had a great experience here with the locals, wildlife, and pets! Yassira and Chris were both fantastic hosts as well! Not only were they kind and welcoming but also engaging and helpful! They were very quick to respond to my messages and were super helpful with suggestions and tips. The local towns, markets, and sites were great! Friendly people, excellent food, unique and beautiful arts and crafts! It was so much more rewarding and exciting than staying at a hotel in the city. The only “flaw” my boyfriend and I had with the place is that the driveway is very steep and curvy. We are both under 25 and “decently fit” yet we both struggled a bit with walking up and down it. But just renting a 4x4 vehicle would fix this no problem❤️Overall, a fantastic experience that I would love to do again in the future!

We had a great experience here with the locals, wildlife, and pets!

this place is TOP, calm, stunning view, super clean and simpy beautiful! Yassira was amazing host, she helped us with everything, we spent nice holiday there, thank you again for lovely time!
