<p><strong>The whole hilltop, just for your people.</strong> Cerrito Encantado is a private group vacation rental near Playa Chacala and Rincon de Guayabitos, in the hill village of <a href="https://cerritoencantado.com/en/explore-altavista-nayarit">Altavista, Nayarit</a>. Book it and the entire hill is yours: two houses, five bedrooms, the salt water pool, the outdoor kitchen with its wood-fired pizza oven, two open-air yoga decks, and a view that runs down the valley to the ocean.</p>
<p>This is the place for the reunion everyone actually shows up to. Kids in the pool while the pizza oven gets going. Grandparents on the round house patio watching the coast turn pink. Cousins claiming rooms, someone stringing a hammock, the dogs working the crowd for belly rubs. Fifteen of you sleep over; up to fifty can come for the day. In the rainy season,&nbsp;the lightning over the valley is better than television, and one lunar eclipse a horse wandered up to watch with our guests.</p>

<p>Getting down here is part of the arrival. Standard cars park up top on the main road and everyone walks down in about a minute; returning guests swear the hill keeps them young. 4x4s with good tires and a little nerve come all the way down.</p>

<p>No cars? The village colectivo runs weekday mornings, taxis cover the beaches, and the colectivo taxi delivers food up from town on the nights nobody wants to cook.</p>

<p>This is a hilltop in a real village, not a resort: no restaurants in walking distance, a walk down to get in, and quiet nights that actually stay quiet. Your group cooks in the outdoor kitchen (that is the fun part), shops in Las Varas or La Peñita, and a local cook can be hired for the stay. Best for groups with good mobility. Cerrito Encantado Private Villa with Pool near Chacala

We spent 6 nights at the property. The views are magical. The kids loved the dogs and spent A LOT of time petting them. (If you don’t like dogs, they will just leave them on their chains and you won’t be bothered.) We saw a number of cool birds and some iguanas. The pool was lovely and the internet reliable and fast, which was really a surprise given the location. 
We have rented vacation rentals all over the world and we’ve never had an owner/manager as amazing as Yazzi. Truly outstanding. She organized a trip to the petroglyphs for us on short notice, was available for all of our many questions, and address any concerns we had.
One thing to know is that the property is closer to other homes than what I had expected from the pictures. We were there during holiday season and there was a lot of music to be heard sometimes from three directions at once. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs - also for the roosters and donkeys. :-)
