During the day, you can enjoy the Historic Center in a very dynamic way, focusing on its facades and old buildings, visiting its primordial monuments such as the Co-Cathedral of San Nicolás or the Basilica de Santa María, discovering its narrow streets or main streets (such as Calle Mayor or Calle Labradores) and strolling through its original neighborhoods.
The Central Market of Alicante is a building in an eclectic style, with ornaments of Valencian modernism, from the beginning of the 20th century, which serves as a municipal market. The most emblematic façade is the one on Alfonso el Sabio Avenue, with access through a large staircase. The rear façade faces the Plaza 25 de Mayo. The building consists of a semi-basement floor and an upper floor where the sales stalls are located.
