Four Sisters Chalet

Our long weekend at this mountain home was everything we needed to recharge and reconnect. The moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking view — a sweeping overlook visible from nearly every room in the house. The great room, with its wall of windows, perfectly frames the mountain scenery, especially with the fall colors in full display. It felt like the mountains were putting on a show just for us.

The home itself is warm, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. Every bed was cozy, the furniture was beautiful, and everything felt thoughtfully designed. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked, with high-quality appliances that made cooking a joy. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches from our host, like the farm-fresh bread and eggs — the bread was divine with dinner and even better toasted the next morning.

We loved how much there was to do nearby. On our first day, we took a short walk right from the house to the Appalachian Trail to stretch our legs after the drive. The next days were filled with apple picking, visiting wineries and breweries, and exploring Skyline Drive and the trails in Shenandoah National Park — all just a short, scenic drive away.

Evenings were peaceful and perfect. We soaked in the hot tub under the stars after hiking, enjoyed a small campfire one night, and appreciated how quiet and serene the property felt. Our teenagers were happy, too — they loved the games, TVs in their rooms, and space to relax.

Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the house guide was incredibly helpful — we followed several of the local suggestions and loved every one (we agree about the frozen custard at Spelunkers, it’s delicious!)

This home offered the peace, comfort, and beauty our family needed. Between the stunning views, the thoughtful amenities, and the endless nearby adventures, it was the perfect fall escape. We’re already dreaming about our next stay!

A Perfect Mountain Getaway – Fall Magic at Its Best!

Our family had the privilege of staying 3 nights at the Four Sisters! Especially endearing because we also have four sisters! What a perfectly appointed and restful place! Michelle was nothing but kind and helpful. Farm fresh eggs and bread greeted us and a cozy spotless home full of small comforts and charm!

The first thing we all noticed was the pure quiet of the outdoors. We sat for literal hours listening to birds and just pure silence. We enjoyed our own cooking in the fabulous kitchen, and a bonfire in the fantastic fire pit. Had family movie nights on the comfy couch and enjoyed tunes on the super fun old radio adapted for Bluetooth!

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely 5 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail from a trailhead a stone’s throw from the front door. Our girls enjoyed exploring the multiple short hikes on the property and gathered up walking sticks and acorns to boot.

We enjoyed not one but TWO of the FABULOUS local orchards and picked up a bottle of local wine. We soaked in the sweet hot tub and had such a relaxing long weekend.

None of us wanted to leave! Checkout was an absolute breeze with Michelle wanting no burden on guests. These folks clearly know what it is like to stay in guest cabins and have put all that experience into making their chalet a delight! We can’t wait to go back!
