Boatman's Steps - Holiday Cottage in Cornwall

It was our second holiday at Boatman‘s Steps and it was as lovely as the first one. Wonderful location with great views and the house itself is a real gem. It has direct access to the sea and a fantastic roof terrace. We regularly took the little ferry to Fowey and enjoyed fabulous lunches and dinners at North Street Kitchen.

The house is a real gem

Absolutely fantastic house. We had a wonderful winter break at Boatman’s Steps - if you are looking for peace and quiet and a cosy cottage to stay in, this is the place. House spotlessly clean, super king size beds really comfortable. Waking up to the view across to Fowey - just a great way to chill out and unwind. Boat trips to Fowey are frequent, the Lugger Inn in Polruan itself is an excellent, friendly little pub well worth spending time in too.

A wonderful winter break at Boatman’s Steps

Wow. What a beautiful home. Was incredible and so much better than we thought. Location is great, peaceful. The home is so perfectly decorated. Has everything you could need. He kindly put up a Xmas tree for us. Can’t wait to stay again!

What a beautiful home!

We took two grandchildren (14 and 11) two dogs and a grown up daughter for a weeks stay at Boatmens steps. We had a lovely time, the house was immaculate when we arrived. The beds amazingly comfortable and the lounge very cosy, with smart TV. The view over the harbour was stunning and we were two minutes from the ferry to Fowey which was so reliable. Stunning area with lovely beaches for the kids. We enjoyed using the ladders to get to the little beach at the rear of the house. The owners provided an electric luggage carrier which was a fabulous help to us when emptying and re packing the car! Would definitely recommend this property

Family holiday

The house is everything you could want and more. The interiors are so brilliant and tastefully done but they can’t even compete with the view of the Fowey river. You could spend hours sitting watching all the boats go past in the estuary. Not only that, but there is direct access to the beach below which makes swimming a dream. And after that there is a steaming hot shower in the garden to wash off. Everything is perfect at Boatman’s and we could not have stayed in a better place.
