Just 1 mile west of Cadillac, 8 miles east of Caberfae Ski Resort, and just 2 miles north of M-55 near the Heart of the Manistee National Forest. Great for Summer and Winter Vacation Getaway! List of nearby things to do: -Lake Cadillac & Lake Mitchell out the back door for lots of Fishing, Boating, Canoeing, --Kayaking, Ice Fishing & much more. -Swimming in the water from your boat or a nearby public beach. -Snowmobile Trail located 1 mile down the road. No wasting time loading and unloading sleds all day long. Just RIDE! -Cadillac Snowmobile Festival just outside the front door. -Top Notch SKIING & GOLF at Caberfae Resort (7 miles) & Crystal Mountain Resort (15 miles). (By the way staying at this Yellow Perch is much nicer & less expensive than any small hotel room! -Adventure Island Amusement Park with go-carts, bumper boats, water slides, mini-golf, & more (1 miles). -Pine River canoeing, tubing, paddle board, rafting, & more (10 miles). -Hiking & Hunting on the 1000's of acres of State land 1 mile down the road because it is located near the heart of the Manistee Forest. -Steelhead & Salmon Fishing at Tippy Dam (15 miles). -ORV trailhead about 5 to 8 miles away. -Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing -Morel Mushroom Hunting is some of the best in the area. -Little River Casino (30 miles). -Fire pit for those marsh mellows & other goodies. -Walk to Downtown Cadillac for Festivals, Shopping, & just to enjoy the Old Town Charm. -Watch a video from Movie Library of over 200 movies using the DVD or VHS player. -Enjoy the peacefulness of the area while reading a book & dangling your feet in the water. Entire Home. Only place I do store personal items are in the Garage. Nice neighborhood of small waterfront homes and cottages.

Lazy Acorn "The Yellow Perch" on Lake Mitchell

Great space for us with our fur babies. We’ve stayed there at least half a dozen times and love the upgrades that have been done. The garage entry is a bonus so we can leash up our pets!

Dog days

After 3 days with no power, single digit temps in the evenings, and no luck finding a hotel room for a family of 5, we were lucky to find this rental at such a reasonable rate for the rest of our 5 day ordeal. Our host let us check in early and we were doing laundry and taking showers that afternoon. I was pleastly surprised how well supplied the kitchen was. We just had to stock food. The kids were amazed at the VHS tape collection & we had a lesson in rewinding tapes and fast forwarding. The cottage was very roomy and we weren't tripping over each other like at a hotel. It was just so cozy and homey. Super-clean, of course. The vibes were immaculate. It was a quiet and restful stay. I'm only bummed we weren't able to enjoy the dock or canal but that was purely weather related. 10/10 would recommend!

We’ve stayed here several times, DeWayne is a great host and has made several upgrades making the Perch perfect for us and our dogs. The location is perfect.
