Guest will have access to the ENTIRE home. This perfectly located home is in the heart of the historic village of Eastsound, Orcas Island’s downtown district. This walkable village bustles with life—a visitor’s dream of galleries, boutiques, restaurants, cafes, and a history museum. Historically, it was the center of Coast Salish tribal commerce. Now, locals and visitors enjoy its natural beauty and quaint charms. After spending a day whale watching, shopping, or hiking, you can relax with a massage, delicious meal, concert or play, or head to the seasonal farmer’s market.
Just a beautiful 10-minute drive from the "Purdue House" is the highly recommended Moran State Park. Moran park offers over 50 miles of trails for hikers, mountain bikers, and horses. Seasonally, the two lakes located within the park allow non-motorized fishing. While visiting the park, you can take a 15-minute drive to the top of Mt. Constitution with breathtaking views of the entire Puget Sound area.

The Purdue House sits on Victory Hill, right downtown Eastsound. Walking distance to everything in town couldn’t be more convenient. On Victory Hill there is one other home across the roadway. This home is still in the building process however the remainder of the build is largely indoor, finishing work. The crew is very respectful of guests at the Purdue House.
Wrap around windows give views of sweeping Madrona and quaint bustling Eastsound, tucked away just enough to be quiet and peaceful atop the hill.
There is designated parking for Purdue guests. You may unload and load items at the front door. If you need to park more permanently closer to the front door this can be arranged with advance notice.
Given the location of the home and your interests while on Orcas it is possible to stay here without a vehicle and enjoy much of the island in the summer months riding the shuttle.
Pet Policy:
There’s a 2 pet maximum at the Purdue House. Upon booking please notify us if you will be traveling with more than one pet as there is an additional fee per pet. Pet fee is due upon booking and must be paid prior to checking in.
Curious what we mean by quirky historic features?! Just what you might expect in a 100 year old home. As you approach the Purdue home you'll enter through a front entry rain porch, perfect for those PNW days. The house features all the modern amenities and upgrades necessary for a comfortable stay and you just can't miss the old charm character for a memorable stay. A noteworthy wood burning fireplace presents a striking brick accent wall in the airy kitchen. The bright kitchen windows wrap around into the living room providing ample views to town below. Noteworthy fixtures and features around the home will have you wondering what life may have been like in this very home years and years ago. Although we've straightened and aligned the couches, beds, pillows and chairs you might get the impression the home is slightly listing. It's not the local Orcas Winery "Bloom" wine you're enjoying playing tricks on you, the home does have a bit of a bowed effect.

**Please note that there is ongoing construction of a home across the driveway during normal working hours. While most of the remaining work is being completed indoors, workers may be present and there is a possibility of occasional construction activity or noise during your stay.
**Availability note: Weekends tend to book quickly, but we offer lower rates on weekdays — perfect if your schedule is flexible and you’re looking for a great value. **New to ferry travel? Don’t stress — we offer simple, easy-to-follow ferry tips to help make your arrival seamless. Once you’re on island, we’re available 24/7 to help with anything you need.

**If your desired minimum nightly stay falls outside the current settings, feel free to reach out to the host directly—exceptions can sometimes be made**
**We’re tucked away on a remote island, where things move a little slower—including the WiFi. While you’ll have access to internet, it can occasionally be patchy or inconsistent due to our location. We like to think of it as part of the charm: a gentle nudge to unplug, soak in the views, and fully settle into island time.
**We offer a limited number of kayaks and paddle-boards available to rent during your stay. Equipment can be staged at the home prior to arrival for an additional fee. Reach out with any questions—whether you’re staying with us or not.**
**Looking for extra convenience? We offer optional, fee-based concierge services such as pre-arrival grocery stocking, birthday or celebration staging, and other personalized on-island assistance. Just let us know what you need. **Please consider travel insurance for your visit. Orcas Island travel can sometimes be impacted by weather or ferry schedules, and we’re unable to refund for these or other unexpected disruptions. Insurance can help protect your trip if something unexpected comes up.

We stayed in this house for a girls’ trip recently, and it was perfect! It’s a cute space that had a ton of room for everyone, the beds were really comfy, and being in walking distance of town was incredibly convenient. This trip was my first time on Orcas Island, and I would definitely stay here again!
