“Belden Island offers the rare chance to stay on your own private island in the heart of the scenic Thimble Islands. Surrounded by the calm waters of Long Island Sound, the island provides a peaceful retreat with sweeping views, charming stone pathways, and the perfect blend of New England history and coastal beauty. Whether you’re sipping coffee at sunrise or enjoying a glass of wine as the sun sets over the water, your time here feels like a true escape.” Please view Ferry schedule in images.

CT Private Home on Belden Island

This is my 4th visit. Amazing, peaceful and spectacular relaxation. The home is set up with all the basics and more.
All you need to bring is your food & beverages. The beds are comfortable. The views, are amazing from every room, deck, etc. They added a solar array, providing electricity for additional comfort. They even have a smart TV although, we didnt use it except to get the forecast for the incoming storm. Being there for the storm was fun. WE moved from porch to porch to stay out of the rain and watched the storm come and go.. Lightening...Thunder...
A spectacular end to an amazing stay. Thanks to the DJV team & Dawn for providing all the details making the stay even more enjoyable, every time we visit.

More than Glamping!!

WE were able to enjoy this amazing home in June. The night s were cool but comfortable. WE enjoyed no power. We read the books about the area provided at the house. I enjoyed the Thimble Island Story book and the Book on the Hurricane of 1938. Relaxing with amazing views and the Sunsets!!!! We will be back

UN Plug and Un wind is right!!

Such a beautiful home. The interior wood work and decor is beautiful
A great place to unplug and unwind as the description says. No electricity is a good thing. We brought a couple portable batteries to charge phones. They have a generator and a small solar pack worked fine for us.

Great Getaway

The experience of this house is worth everything. To be surrounded by ocean, with lots of space, wraparound deck and comfy rooms for every hour of the day is amazing. If you need electricity - come prepared with portable battery/power bricks and patience. The propane works great for all your basic needs, and there are a few creative ways to get electricity to charge up your stuff, and the owners are amazingly responsive and helpful - but if 24/7 connectivity is your goal, maybe don't choose a little island. Overall this is 100% a place to come to spend time with great people, make great food, read great books and feel welcomed and supported by the community - friendly shopkeepers, librarians, restaurant owners, ferry captains. Amazing lifetime experience.
