If you travel with one small bag and a big appetite for the sea, studio 605 fits. It is on the sixth level of Dolce Beach Residence, beachfront and facing Simpson Bay, and from the balcony the evening sky over the bay puts on a show most nights.

Packing light works here because the basics are handled. Bed linen and towels come with the studio, Wi-Fi is included, and there is a washer and dryer for the swimsuit you wear every single day.

The room is one open space for two guests, with a bed, a little lounge corner and a kitchenette. In practice that means a fridge and a microwave, no oven: plenty for iced coffee or the leftovers from last night's dinner at the marina.

The beach begins at the foot of the building. A shared pool sits on the sand for when you fancy fresh water, a shared gym, indoors and out, is open to residents, and you pass the welcome lobby on the way down.
