"If we were any closer to heaven, we'd be talking to St. Peter" said one guest about Great Turtle Villa.

Tucked into the lush mountainside above Coral Bay, behind an electronic gate, Great Turtle Villa is a casually elegant vacation villa with four bedrooms in two two-story pavilions bisected by a pool.

Great Turtle Villa is accessed via all paved roads, a rare amenity on St. John and very welcome in a tropical downpour. It is located in the comfortable, upscale neighborhood of Upper Carolina. Surrounding homes are on large lots hidden by lush foliage which provides lots of privacy. Enter Great Turtle Villa's drive through an electronic gate which not only adds extra privacy and security but it also keeps the wild donkeys out!

The front door opens onto the larger pavilion's main level which contains the attractive living and dining areas and the fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with a marble-topped work table and breakfast bar. In the living area, a flat-screen TV, stereo, DVD, plus music and video libraries, provide indoor entertainment. The fully-equipped kitchen boasts stainless appliances, granite counters and enough dishes, bake-ware, and pans to satisfy the most particular chef. Hand-polished mahogany screened french doors open onto spacious shaded decks with cushy rockers and inviting chaises lounges, perfect for enjoying the cool trade-wind breezes. An outdoor walkway above the pool and courtyard garden leads to the other pavilion with its master bedroom suite. An open staircase heads down beside the garden, passing exquisite orchids and a stately coconut palm, as it leads to the lower pool deck level with three more bedrooms.

All four equal size bedrooms open onto large decks, with dazzling views, AC, adjoining baths, and walk-in closets making Great Turtle Villa a perfect vacation rental for friends or families to share. No one gets stuck in the "back bedroom with no view". The pool, just steps from your bedroom, is perfect, from a morning dip to a midnight swim. The lush courtyard garden ensures total privacy for swimming or sunning on the deck. When children are present, to keep them safe, self-locking gates around the pool can be utilized.

Just minutes from fabulous National Park beaches and the funky bars and restaurants of Coral Bay, this villa's central location allows easy access to both sides of St. John. Cruz Bay is only a 20 minute drive away and all the best hiking trails are within easy reach.

Everything about Great Turtle invites you to relax. Spend the day in the cushy rockers on the deck or let your cares slip away as you lounge by the pool. The Caribbean-style decor offers a comfortable mix of inviting antiques and pleasant elegance. The villa's lush tropical gardens are filled with birds-of-paradise, scarlet bougainvillea and rainbow-colored hibiscus. Slice a papaya for breakfast or pick your own lime for cocktails. But it's the awe-inspiring view - sparkling white sails bobbing on turquoise water in Coral Bay, shimmering islands on the horizon, the ever-changing greens on the verdant hills of Bordeaux Mountain, the speckled browns of sugar mill ruins peeking through the foliage of Carolina Valley - that you will carry forever in the memory of your visit to St. John and Great Turtle Villa!

As one guest from Connecticut said, "I travel the world for my work and have seen many beautiful places, but, I must say, your home and the view of Coral Bay tops them all!"

Great turtle was just as the photos look! Amazing views, clean home and all the amenities. The pool was refreshing and perfect, the landscaping beautiful and all the beach gear we so appreciated! Cooler, chairs, ice packs! The rooms were perfect, clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed and felt right at home. Even the ice maker and ice trays kept up with all of our needs! We would easily stay again- we loved it! Thank you!

This home is awesome. The views are spectacular and my family loved all the outdoor living space options as well as the pool. The home is beautiful and well appointed. Close to the North shore beaches and hiking trails. We had a fabulous time and would definitely stay here again.

Views Are Spectacular

Perfect. My spouse and I brought both sets of parents with us on vacation to St. John and could not have imagined a better experience. The villa was beyond expectation, including the staff support! Rosie met with us and walked us through all the amenities of the villa and was just amazing. We will defiantly be returning to St. John and staying at this villa again!

Perfect.

Our stay was perfect!!! I will just say that the pictures don’t come close to showing the beauty. We will absolutely use again!! Thank you so much!
