Travel back to the era of elegance and relax in this beautiful and spacious apartment at Florence House. Built 200 years ago in the heart of Herne Bay, this apartment combines unforgettable Georgian charm with modern comforts. 
Located only 3 mins to the beach by foot and within a charming terrace of pastel coloured properties, Florence House overlooks the town square from a prominent position and puts all that Herne Bay has to offer on your door step.
This apartment has been lovingly restored to retain as many of its romantic original features as possible and combining the magnificent high ceilings and large windows creates a beautiful light and airy space. 
During the day, floor to ceiling bay windows offer sea glimpses and a gentle warmth in the living room, whilst in the evening, a grand 8 arm chandelier illuminates the living room and brings focus to the original Carrara marble fireplace. 
The master bedroom has our newly upgraded king sized button-backed bed. With a luxurious memory foam topped 800 spring medium support mattress, fluffy pillows and crisp professionally laundered linen, you're sure to have a comfortable nights sleep. The second bedroom has an adult sized bunk bed sleeping another 2 guests. 
The next morning will be heavenly too - Outside the bedroom window we have nesting birds that greet you with bird song and jasmine that wafts through the air. It's easy to forget you're actually in the centre of town as this apartment is very peaceful. 
The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing breakfast and cooking your evening meals alike, or later in the evening pouring a glass of wine ready to sit back and relax on the sofa to watch the latest movies and tv shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime & Disney Plus which come ready installed on the Smart TV.
After a day at the beach the thermostatic shower provides a powerful shower that is as practical with sandy toes as it is relaxing after a long day.
Because of Florence House's central location a car is not necessary to see much that Herne Bay has to offer. If however you still decide to bring your car outside there is on street parking which is free for 1 hour between 9am and 6pm Mon-Sat. We can also provide permits to park there all day at a charge of £10 per day but we will require your vehicle's registration number ahead of your visit for the permit to be processed. 
Fantastic central location in Herne Bay, overlooking the town square, which regularly hosts events - particularly during the summer time, and on the last Sunday of every month the monthly craft and farmers market. Immediately opposite Florence House on the square you'll find the Herne Bay leisure centre, which has a swimming pool, gym and cinema. Local shops and larger supermarkets are just on your doorstep as are several award winning restaurants, pubs and bars. A short 3 minute walk down our road, and you'll be on the beach and sea front parade.
We are on the bus route into Canterbury which takes approx 35-45mins, or in the other direction Whitstable in 20mins. A 15min walk will take you to the train station, where you can get to London St Pancras in 1 hour and 20mins.
As standard the apartment is ready for three people, but the second upper bunk can be supplied for a fourth person for an additional cost, if 4 people are selected when making the booking.
We have a cot available to hire with linen, this is £20 for the first night and £10 for each additional night thereafter. 
Pets are allowed providing they are clean, house trained and well behaved. This will however incur an additional £20 fee per stay.

Grand Flat | Heart of Herne Bay | 300m from beach

This was our first visit to Florence House. We were very pleased with the accommodation. Everything we needed on hand. It was lovely to be able to relax in the comfortable living room after a busy day. The flat is well positioned in Herne Bay with shops, parking and the beach all within walking distance.

Florence House - Grand Flat

We stayed in the grand flat during the end of May bank holiday. It was our fourth stay in these lovely apartments at Florence House. The grand flat has everything you need with a full kitchen, a lovely large main bedroom with comfy king size bed and a second bedroom with bunk beds if required. The living room is large and very cosy. It's in a fantastic location for the seafront, local shops and bars/restaurants, a leisure centre with pool across the road. Oliver is a great host and responds quickly to any questions. I .would highly recommend staying at Florence House.

Lovely apartment in the centre of town

My adult daughter and I walked into the flat and immediately felt at home. The charm of the space with it's comfortable seating, window dining and thoughtful kitchen necessities was perfect. Much to our surprise, fresh fruit, milk, coffee/tea, sugar and a sweet treat was there for us to enjoy. The bedding was comfortable and the fans were appreciated. You are a close walk to the beach, very near grocery, various shops/restaurants and directly across the street from the gym/pool/cinema. Everything you need for a wonderful stay was here and, if we are ever lucky enough to return to Herne Bay, we will put Florence House at the top of our list.

The Grand Flat- First Floor

Second time of staying at Florence House with my sister. The location is at the heart of Herne Bay. The apartments have everything you need. Super clean & comfortable. The garden is a bonus. Oliver is a great host. Highly recommended.

Great location, fab apartment

This is our fourth visit to Florence House and the property is well maintained by Oliver Rees and the same lady is still doing the cleaning of the property. The flat ticks all the boxes for us and is home from home and it’s convenient location is ideal for shopping, visits to the promenade an d pier and the railway station is a short 15 minute walk from the flat. Would recommend it to other people visiting Herne Bay.
