Family-friendly cottage between the Mountains and the Sea

The house is beautifully decorated with comfy beds, a gorgeous bunk bed room for children (with toys and dvds), a cute little outdoor area that gets the sun in the afternoon, Netflix on two tvs, TVs in the bedrooms, complimentary prosecco on arrival and lovely, soft bedding. It feels like a home from home with plenty of kitchen items. Only about a 10 min drive from Barmouth makes it easy to get to the beach and the house is on a slip road so not directly on the main road. As the road is 20 miles an hour, we didn't notice the road when in the house and the back bedrooms were quiet. It was also only about 12 mins to Coed Y Brenin and about 20 mins to Fairbourne.

A beautifully decorated cottage, close to Barmouth

Our family had the most wonderful week at Tegfryn Cottage. The location is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet everything you could want to explore is within easy reach.
We spent one day paddleboarding on Bala Lake, another walking through Coed y Brenin Forest Park, and even squeezed in an afternoon at Barmouth beach where we bought ice creams and watched the children build sandcastles.
Every evening it was lovely to return to the cottage, and spend time chatting without any distractions. The cottage was exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed.
It genuinely felt like a home rather than a holiday rental.

Making memories

We stayed at Tegfryn for five nights and wished we'd booked longer. The cottage is absolutely beautiful – cosy, spotless and finished to such a high standard. Every room felt welcoming, and after long days exploring it was the perfect place to come back to and unwind.
Our first day we made a beautiful breakfast in the cottage before cycling the Mawrddach trail to Barmouth. The scenery was incredible. We enjoyed a fresh coffee in Goodies cafe and explored the seaside town. Afterwards, we enjoyed fish and chips on the harbour at Barmouth while watching the sunset. Back at the cottage we spent the evening relaxing in the cosiest living room. 
We also climbed Cader Idris during our stay, and although we were exhausted afterwards, coming back to such a comfortable cottage made it completely worthwhile. The beds were amazingly comfortable, and we all slept better than we had in months.
Tegfryn is one of those places that instantly makes you feel at home. We can't wait to return.

Exploring and enjoying...

If you're looking for stillness, comfort and beautiful scenery, Tegfryn is the place to stay. The location is ideal for walking, cycling and exploring Eryri National Park. Every room was beautifully presented. We arrived to a beautiful welcome pack, luxury towels and all the finishing touches that made the property fresh and clean. The hosts had thought of everything. Five stars all round.

Exeeded our expectations!

And exhale......From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed. The cottage is stylish, cosy and exceptionally clean. We spent our days exploring the mountains  before returning to unwind in the evening. We had the most gorgeous glass of wine and food in the local George pub which is just a 5 minute drive away. Already looking at dates for our next visit!
