Winslow on the Shire

We loved our stay at the Winslow on the Shire! This is an incredible home with significantly more room than I'd imagined. We would certainly recommend the Winslow to anyone with a large family plus guests. The shared spaces (including a lovely back deck and huge kitchen) made visiting together so comfortable. Everyone had their own room and bathroom (plus a number of other full bathrooms). Truly all that we needed was there to prepare meals (i.e. plenty of cookware, plates, cups, coffee pots, routine spices, and counter space). Also, the view and setting were quite scenic. We really enjoyed admiring the wildlife and beautiful mountains from the back deck. Thank you, Heidi, for a lovely weekend in Pagosa Springs! We've left with such great memories from your home.

A beautiful, spacious retreat

Perfect place for our Chrtistmas time family reunion in a beautiful setting away from the busy resort side of town. Eighteen family members covering four generations and this house was like a big, cozy hug. So much space and character, yet so intimate! Absolutely amazing kitchen and we used every bit of it cooking Christmas dinner for 18 people. Themed bedrooms were a hoot!

We hung out playing billiards, doing puzzles, watching movies and cooking, cooking, cooking. A few of us went skiing just up the road at Wolf Creek.

I've never seen a house this size with this much character. Having so many family members together for Christmas may have been a once-in-lifetime event for us, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back to Winslow-on-the-Shire. It's everything you could want.

Practically perfect in every way!

Wow! What an awesome place! This was perfect for our family reunion. The variety of rooms, plenty of dining spaces inside and out made it easy for all 33 of us to find a place to sit. 23 slept here and 10 slept in Ridgley in the Rockies a 1/4 mile away. The kitchen was large enough to cook and serve meals for our entire group with 4 ovens, a gas range, and gas grill out back…the HUGE island in the kitchen doubled as prep and serving space. The game room with pool table and other games kept everyone occupied. The house was clean, and fully stocked with essentials like trash bags, TP, extra linens, and cooking and serving utensils. The house is also continently located less than 10 min from the hot springs!! Perfect location for a family reunion, my niece cried when they were leaving because she loved the house so much.

Perfect for our Family Reunion!

This house was great as overflow sleeping space for Winslow on the Shire. 4 bedrooms upstairs were used by 7 oldest nephews, and the downstairs bedroom was occupied by my parents. It was easy to book. We did have some issues with the code to unlock the door, but Kevin was available to unlock remotely. We didn’t have to use this kitchen as all meals were prepped and served at Winslow on the Shire a 1/4 mile away. But I am sure the kitchen is just as stocked. This house was a great value for the number of rooms. Overall it was great so we didn’t feel cramped in just one house.

Ridgley in the Rockies - Great Overflow for Winslow on the Shire!!

What a beautiful location for a family reunion - and this was the perfect house for us. Lots of space to spread out, lots of areas to congregate. We ate outside several days and watched the horses with the mountains in the background (could anything say Colorado more than that??). We watched movies, played games, cooked together, chatted late into the night. We took some day trips to Great Sand Dunes and Mesa Verde. On July 4th, we were able to see the Pagosa Springs fireworks from the balcony (which we all prefer to driving into town!).

Overall, a great experience, would highly recommend!
