Clifton is a small village in Cumbria, England (historically part of Westmorland) about 2 miles south Penrith. The village of has a church, primary school, and a pub; the renowned George and Dragon (you can view their food and drink options online and book if you want to eat there), which is part of the Lowther Estates. The nearest other pubs are The Beehive and The Crown at Eamont Bridge one mile away. There is free on road parking.
The bus only runs 2 days a week, so a car, or at least a bike are recommended to get around!

Comfortable Ensuite Room with King Size Bed

We had a brilliant stay here! Linden and Marie are helpful, lovely hosts, and the room was interior design heaven haha! A beautiful place to stay, with everything you would need (and useful extras like dining space in the room as well), and in a really good location too. Just perfect.

Everything you would need - and useful extras

I had a fabulous stay at Linden and Marie’s house—a beautiful, characterful cottage that has been lovingly restored. The bed was very comfortable, and the space felt thoughtfully designed. Linden restores furniture, so there are lovely touches like an antique table and charming shutters. They’ve thought of everything: fridge, kettle, utensils, and plates, tea, coffee—practical touches that made my stay easy. I stayed in a front room and shared a bathroom, which was clean and well maintained. The village is ideally located near Penrith, surrounded by stunning countryside. While the cottage is near a fairly busy road, it’s very well connected—just off the motorway, with the Lake District nearby. I visited Ullswater and Keswick—both breathtaking. A lovely bonus was the woodland opposite the house, perfect for an evening run—I even saw deer!
