From its handcrafted details (think aspen bed frames and rough-hewn log construction) to its secret outdoor spots (like a mountain-view fire pit and a private hot tub), every inch of Mitchell View will bring you a little bit of joy. 
As you enter the cabin you will discover a fully equipped kitchen that has all that is needed to cook a family dinner, a dining table that sits eights and an open living room with beautiful views of the mountains and a large wood burning fireplace. The living room includes a comfortable leather sofa with reclining back, two upholstered chairs, and a 42” flat screen TV with DVD player and DirectTv Satellite service. 
Also on the main floor is the master bedroom with king bed, dresser, 32" flat screen TV and french doors leading to your private area of the wrap around deck. Adjacent is a full bath with tub/shower combination and double vanity. Upstairs is the open loft which includes 2 twin trundle beds and TV.
Head down to the game room to watch the big game on Satellite or challenge someone to a bumper pool or air hockey showdown. For convenience there is a laundry room with a full size front-loading washer and dryer.

The two level deck features a five person hot tub, lounge chairs, deck rockers and a gas grill. When you’re ready to stretch your legs, bring the kids (and pup—this getaway is dog-friendly!) for a hike on the trails along Glade Creek. End your day of adventure with chit-chat around the campfire and under the stars.
A TRUE MOUNTAIN GETAWAY
As beautiful as this home is, it's just a prelude to the many gifts outside your door. Hiking trails, cascading creek and pond are just right outside your front door! Enjoy making smores at the outside bonfire pit ( free firewood is provided ) or catching tadpoles and salamanders in the creek, a short walk or drive from the home. Or simply sit back and watch the hummingbirds, woodpeckers, squirrel, rabbit, and deer - just some of the neighbors that may visit. In each and every season, Western North Carolina offers some of the best vacation possibilities. Spring hiking, summer trout fishing, fall foliage or winter skiing. Highrock Haven is centrally located so that you may enjoy local attractions like the popular Biltmore House - each of these with just a short drive.

Other things to note
Pet policy - Dogs welcome, $50 pet fee per dog over 15 lbs, 3 dog limit. 
For your convenience we supply you with a limited starter kit of toilet paper, soap, paper towels, trash bags, and dishwasher detergent. There are several shops you can visit nearby to purchase supplies for the duration of your stay. Due to the rural location of this property, cell phone reception may occasionally be spotty, Verizon is the best for connectivity. A landline is provided in the cabin. 4WD will be necessary in snowy/icy conditions.

Mitchell View at High Rock | 3 Bedroom Log Home

This was our second Spring Break in a row at Mitchell View and it was just as everything we hoped for and more, our kids even got to see snow fall for the first time! Very little road construction nearby due to Hurricane Helene damage but we had no troubles getting anywhere we needed to go and the areas around the cabin looked completely untouched or else someone did a great job cleaning it all up really fast. Such a beautiful location, we'll be back soon!

Perfect Mountain Getaway

Fantastic location not far from town but deep enough on a mountain side with a great view for total peace and quiet. Hot tub under the stars was the highlight. Clean and comfortable, it was great!

Mitchell View

We had a wonderful stay, Mike was very friendly and extremely attentive. Our trip was very last minute as our kids wanted to see snow, and the location on top of the mountains offered the best views. Cannot wait to come back, to create new memories. Thank you Mike for making this trip an extremely memorable one by allowing us into your home and making sure that we had an exceptional stay.

Snowy Mitchell View

Perfect cabin atop a mountain with amazing views. We celebrated Christmas there and the owner even put up a real Christmas tree and nice decorations throughout the cabin. The owner supplied us with ample fire wood for the wood burning fireplace that was used every day which added to the coziness and Christmas feel. The hot tub was perfected positioned to enjoy the mountain views. We walked the trails around the neighborhood and learned to play bumper pool in the game room as well as late night poker.All the conveniences of home are present as we made Beef Wellington from scratch for Christmas and other dishes were easily prepared within the kitchen using crockpot and other appliances.As the owner lists, the drive up is very doable in a 2 wheel drive but could be challenging if there is snow on the ground.

Cozy Cabin with amazing view.

We loved everything albout it. The set up made us having each couples its own quarters! We took downstairs, our friends upstairs. Initially we thought it would be too much to stay for a week...glad we did it. We were hoping for some snow, at least flurries...and BAM! we've got it. Amazing!! Mike immediately communicated with us about safety and all. Thank God, we had some food and drinks as we had to stay put for 24 hours :-) House is well equipped, awesome views, great location, close to everything you want to explore in the area. We were 2 couples and each with our babies well behaved pets.
