Island Park Cottage is a large and private property with a cozy open concept 2-bedroom home located on the lake in Gun Barrel City. Perfect for a family getaway or a small group of friends, you will have direct access from the backyard to the lake for less than most other waterfront homes on the lake. Only an hour away Dallas, Cedar Creek Lake combined with Island Park Cottage is the perfect destination for those looking to escape the city life for a few days.
Located in a quiet neighborhood in Gun Barrel City, you can take a walk or ride a bike through the neighborhood. You have access to the Walmart and Brookshires Grocery store within a few minutes' drive. Visit the multiple local restaurants or choose to eat at home on the water. 
Inside of home:  
<ul><li>Open concept living room/kitchen</li><li>Living room has sofa, leather side chair, tv with Hulu, Netflix and Disney Plus.  Fireplace has electric heater insert.</li><li>Kitchen contains:  refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave, blender, food processor, toaster, instant pot, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, cooking spices.</li><li>1st Bedroom:  Queen bed with bedding and pillows.</li><li>2nd Bedroom:  Full bed, twin bed and pull out twin bed, bedding, pillows, tv with Old School video games.</li><li>Bathroom:  Stand up shower basic toiletries.</li><li>Sunroom:  sofa with queen sleeper, washer/dryer, full length wrap-around drapery for privacy.</li><li>Wifi is provided, but at the lake anything can happen and sometimes the internet goes down.  This unfortunately is not something we can control and most properties are subjected to this.  Please keep this in mind if internet is a requirement for you stay.</li></ul>
 
On the Outside: 
<ul><li>The lake levels can vary throughout the year, please ask about current lake levels if your visit will include plans to get out on the lake. </li><li>Raised deck from the back door with outdoor seating including a couch and a bar/table for eating.</li><li>The grill is located right off deck.</li><li> with overhead string lights to help see across the expansive backyard. </li><li>A paddleboard and kayak as well as life vests are provided (You may want to bring your own to assure proper fit). </li><li>Fish directly from our lower dock, </li><li>Stairway with rails to help you get in and out of the water. </li><li>Three beach cruisers and a jr. bike.</li><li>Dock to tie off boat for day use.  We do not recommend leaving your boat in overnight as there is not a boat lift and can be damaged if the water gets rough. Tying up to the dock is done at the guest's risk. We take no responsibility for any damage that could occur to your boat. Local boat ramp is less than 5 minutes away. </li><li>Upper deck above dock is now open.  Enjoy the beautiful sunset views of the lake!</li></ul>

It was great perfect for our family of 5 plus grandma. She was responsive and accommodating. She allowed for an earlier check-in and great host. If we go to that area again definitely going to book at the island park cottage again!

Perfect for family of 5 plus Grandma

We had a great time over a holiday weekend. We shared the house with another family, in all there were 4 adults and 3 kids (all under 5), 2 dogs, and we all slept comfortably. The back room, back yard, and new dock deck were awesome! The beds were very comfortable which is big critique I usually have, but not this time! Courtney was a fantastic host and checked in often to make sure we were comfortable. She was flexible and offered information and work around aid anything popped up. Def would recommend this location for anyone traveling to the Cedar Creek area and looking for a peaceful retreat to get away for a bit.

Holiday Weekend

Courtney’s home is just as described. Everything was clean and organized with extra little touches to make you feel welcomed and at home. The property is great. We enjoyed cooking, fishing, and corn hole all in the backyard. Courtney was attentive and responsive. A great host! Thank you for hosting us in your home. If you want a quiet place on the lake, we recommend Island Park Cottage for your stay!

This was our second time staying at Courtney's place and we absolutely loved our stay. The home is spotless, well-appointed, and the beds are beyond comfy! We've stayed at many short-term rentals and this one is so peaceful and relaxing. The sunroom with wall-to-wall windows offers a beautiful place to feel like you're outside in nature, but without the Texas bugs. :) And the sunset views from the top floor of the dock are stunning! Courtney is a fantastic host, very responsive and helpful. We look forward to staying here again!
