Elegant Goldfields Retreat | Spa Bath & Privacy

Well equipped house in an old style with beautiful spacious rooms, luxurious parquet floors, and elegant furniture. The bed, bedding, and linens were immaculate. Lovely, well-kept little garden. Nice view of the sunset and located at the edge of a beautiful looped forest trail. Close to the town center and shops. We highly recommend it.

Great accommodation in a fantastic location.

This was a darling and characterful house to stay in. It was warm and cosy, with beautiful antique furniture. The kitchen was large and well stocked. The cleaner had put the heating on and left some lights on for us, so it was very welcoming. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, it was the perfect arrangement for two couples. We slept well and it was very peaceful at the edge of town. Castlemaine has many cafes, shops and things to do, so it was a lovely overnight stay. I would highly recommend this beautiful house.

Great property to stay at. Had all the amenities we required and it was very clean and welcoming. Great location and nice and quiet. We were lucky enough to see kangaroos out on the street too!

Our family had the pleasure of staying at this beautifully curated Airbnb Home in Castlemaine for two days, and it was a delightful experience. The space effortlessly blends the charm of the 1940s with modern comforts. The high ceilings, original hardwood floors, and period details made us feel like we’d stepped back in time, while the cozy, thoughtfully chosen furnishings ensured we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.The location is perfect — just a 10-minute walk to Castlemaine’s best eateries. The nearby Kalimna Park offered a peaceful escape, with its indigenous wildlife and tranquil walking paths. For those who enjoy a bit of adventure, there’s an amazing Harcourt cider maker nearby, and Barkers Creek Reservoir is perfect for early morning fishing (great breakfast at Saffs and the pies from Johnny Baker for a picnic). The host’s guidebook also led us to other local gems, making our stay even more memorable. Highly recommend!
