Inside, The Midge features a full kitchen, private full bath, and thoughtful amenities, including complimentary coffee and filters, two milk crates of seasoned firewood and kindling, and high-speed 60mbps fiber Wi-Fi with Hulu + Live TV. A Level 2 EV charger (240V/40Amp) is available at the lodge office and gift shop.

We had a great stay! Cabin had everything we needed! Loved eating breakfast on the porch and the short walk to the river. Perfect spot for the race!

Bristol Race Weekend

We had the most amazing weekend at the Midge! The cabin was extremely clean and had everything we needed. They provided plenty of firewood for the fire pit which we really enjoyed. The bed was super comfy also. The river access was very close and we wore our waders and walked right down. If you stay then you must check out the gift store. We bought a one of a kind charcuterie board that was handmade by Bruce. It's amazing! The gift shop also sells flies, paintings, hats and much more. We booked a full day drift trip and it was the best trip ever. We had action the entire day and Jason Bromwell was our guide. He provided an amazing lunch and was so patient with us the entire day. I would highly recommend the lodge and our guide. We can't wait to come back!

Absolutely Amazing'

Just got back from another stay in the Midge while fishing on the South Holston and Watauga rivers. Tailwater lodge is my absolute favorite place to stay, I try to arrange my trips to the area around there schedule because I just don’t like stay anywhere else.

I love the Midge

I cannot express in words how great this place truly is! We were impressed the moment we pulled up. Felt right at home our entire stay and everything we needed was provided and more!! Firewood, charcoal, dishes, pot/pans, stove, washer/dryer, fridge. Even down to aluminum foil and plastic wrap!  The property is located right by the river and Dam. Plenty of trails and roads to get you where you want to go and see so many things. Very relaxing and beautiful scenery. We saw plenty of wildlife while there also. We travel alot and try to find places like this rather than a stuffy hotel room. We were absolutely not disappointed and will definitely be back!  Bruce and Paula were very friendly and helpful. Honestly, I can’t think of one way to have improved our stay other than to stay longer!
