Welcome to our modern cliffside chalet between Hunter and Windham, surrounded by 300+ acres of wilderness in the heart of the Catskills. Renovated to frame sweeping mountain views, the home offers a chef’s kitchen, an 8 person hot tub, and a spa-inspired bath with sauna, dual-zone shower, and soaking tub. Thoughtful details, warm light, and natural textures create a quiet retreat to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature’s rhythm.

The home and property

From the moment you arrive, The Cliffside Chalet reveals the mountains like a living landscape—300+ acres of ridgelines, drifting mist, and quiet forest stretching in every direction. Each room frames a different moment of the Catskills: morning fog lifting over the valley, the warm reach of afternoon sun, or dusk settling softly into the pines. After a day on the slopes or trails, settle by the foyer fireplace or stretch out on the 10-foot Cloud Sofa beside the woodstove—made for slow mornings, board-game nights, and cinematic evenings on the 76" Smart TV with Sonos woven throughout the home. The kitchen is the heart of the chalet: a space designed for gathering, cooking, and connection. An extended peninsula creates room for shared meal prep, while top-tier appliances, All-Clad cookware, a fully stocked pantry, and small appliances (Vitamix, Instant Pot, convection oven, food processor, microwave, Wi-Fi crockpot) make cooking feel effortless. A dedicated coffee bar offers curated blends and flavored syrups, and the dining room’s floor-to-ceiling windows open to panoramic mountain views—an unforgettable backdrop to the custom farmhouse table. The primary suite sits in the open loft, with a king platform bed and Serta iComfort mattress. The spa-inspired ensuite is a quiet retreat: dual vanities, an oversized rain shower with dual zones, a 72" soaking tub, and a custom Tylo sauna with water bath. A collection of essential oils and candles adds a subtle layer of calm to your bathing and sauna ritual. A compact workspace with laptop connectivity and a Dell color laser printer supports remote work, while a memory-foam futon beneath the loft windows creates a peaceful reading nook or additional sleeping space. On the main level, a second bedroom offers restful privacy with a queen Casper Element mattress. The adjacent bathroom features radiant floor heating, an oversized walk-in shower, and soft ambient lighting. Descending to the lower level, the second living room invites relaxation with a plush sectional and a 65" Smart TV. A full bathroom with walk-in shower and heated towel warmer adds comfort, while the open third bedroom includes two Casper Element queen beds. A dedicated fitness area—WaterRower, Bowflex smart dumbbells, yoga mats—offers space to move, stretch, or practice. Sliding doors open to a serene lower deck for meditation, morning air, or quiet moments with the forest. Outdoors, the experience continues. A fire pit with Adirondack chairs and unlimited firewood anchors the front of the property, perfect for stargazing or late-night conversation. Along the back deck, a 30-foot span opens to valley views with dining for eight and a gas grill. Just beyond, the 8-person hot tub stands at the edge of the ridge—a private spa suspended above the treetops. Sunrise, wildlife, sunset… it’s one of the most memorable vantage points the property offers. The natural surroundings bring occasional visits from local wildlife. Deer and turkeys move quietly through the trees, and squirrels trace the forest edge. Black bears are part of the Catskills ecosystem as well, adding to the sense of living close to nature while enjoying the comfort and safety of the chalet.

Guest Access

Guests have full access to the entire home, including the main floor, open loft, lower-level rec room, fitness area, and both outdoor decks. You’ll enjoy direct access to the upper deck, the 8-person hot tub, the lower meditation deck, and the fire pit at the front of the house.

5 Star Gorgeous Cliffside Chalet w Panoramic Views

Many thanks to Rick for providing me and my family with a wonderful venue for my daughter's wedding weekend. The Cliffside Chalet was extremely comfortable and is a well appointed and spacious home. The bathrooms are particularly worth noting with their spa-like luxury fixtures and amenities. Rick was extremely accommodating and gracious throughout the entire process and our stay. We'd highly recommend staying at the Cliffside Chalet

Fantastic Weekend

My wife and I got married at DMI across the street and rented the chalet for some of the wedding party that couldn't fit at the venue. Any negative feelings about being across the street were quickly gone when they saw the house! The amenities are incredible, the views are amazing, the house was stocked, and Rick was super responsive and helpful in answering all our questions. Our parents saw the house too and they're already talking about renting it again. All around great experience.

Rented for Wedding at DMI

We were here October 2025 for a weekend getting to know the future in laws. Then the hills (some call them mountains) were aflame with fall color. On this wedding weekend, the hills were lush, still retaining the brightest of spring green. The panorama out the back of Rick's home is splendid, as passing clouds continually repaint the hills with shadow and light.

Highly recommend a side trip: hang a left out of Rick's driveway, and wend your way down the back roads filled with twists and turns, waterfalls and out croppings, to Saugerties and back.

And you'll want to get back quick: Rick's home is a comfortable and beautifully appointed tri-level escape with a double decker deck out back.

Rick is the master host. Every facet of the home is under his remote control and he is on-the-spot responsive to whatever adjustment you desire for your comfort and convenience. You'll have access to his large compendium of local attractions.

This home earns 5 out of 5 Rick stars. And in the truest sense it deserves 3 Michelin stars -- this is a place you should drive out of your way to experience.

Ten out of ten ... would return.

THIS IS THE VIEW YOU CAME TO SEE

We had a great stay at Rick’s place celebrating a birthday. The house is beautiful, very well appointed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable weekend. The spaces felt especially cozy, and the views were incredible. Rick was a thoughtful and responsive host, and his recommendations were spot on. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful birthday weekend!

We had an amazing stay at The Cliffside Chalet! Three couples attended a friend’s wedding at Deer Mountain Inn, and Rick's home was the perfect, convenient choice. The house is beautifully appointed, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The chef’s kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals together, making our mornings and evenings extra special. After the wedding, we explored local trails at the Arboretum, including the Hidden Marsh, and spent an afternoon hiking around Kaaterskill Falls. We can’t wait to come back during ski season to experience this cozy spot all over again!
