Casa de Fernando, Frigiliana

Casa Fernando is a stunning house at the top of a beautiful Moorish town of whitewashed houses and steep, cobbled streets. From the three balconies there are amazing views across the hills and out to sea. It is quite a touristy town but we always managed to find a parking space on the main road at the bottom of the hill. As others have warned, it is a steep walk up to the house. Communication with the owner was quick and easy. Only tiny area for improvement is that the main bed could have been more comfortable. We enjoyed meeting the stray (?) cats that hang around the garden as well as visiting the coast and the historic cities of Malaga and Granada.

Amazing views and lovely house

It was a great time. Staying at Casa Fernando will remain in our memory for a long time. This place is amazing. You feel the real Spain when you are there. The owner thought of all the amenities in the house and sent suggestions on how to have a nice time in the Frigiliana area. It would be nice to go back there again.

Casa Fernando- amazing place

Family of three staying at Casa Fernando from June 28th for 8 nights. The house is wonderful with full of charm and authenticity. The architecture and design of the house is everything you would expect from a traditional Andalusian house in a village. You will feel like a local staying here. The space is larger then what transpires from the pictures and the layout separates every room nicely. There are (beautiful) windows everywhere that give a nice breeze throughout the house. The views from the balconies are beyond what you imagine and very private. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the house is tastefully decorated. There are many cats in the village and some reside in the courtyard of the house. This was a bonus for us as we are cat lovers. Even being here at the end of June/beginning of July we never were never uncomfortable sleeping. We did not even use the provided fans and there were no mosquitos. Frigiliana is a postcard perfect mountain village that has many local shops, artisans, a variety of good restaurants, a small grocery store, ice cream parlour, coffee shops, a bakery and even a pharmacy. A larger grocery store and gas station are a short drive away on the road to Nerja. Parking was never a problem. It is a very steep walk to the property; be prepared for this and travel lite. We found that the easiest route was from the parking lot where the churreria is located (great churros) up the ramp to the botanical garden, through the “my princess Bianca” restaurant and via the path by the barber shop. You will be out of breath when you reach the property but it is worth it and will keep you in shape ! The neighbours are nice and the neighbourhood is very friendly. Hans is a very nice host that is easily reachable and always willing to help. We greatly enjoyed our stay at Casa Fernando and would book this property again. I would actually gladly live here !
