We spent a week at the villa in early September 2025 and absolutely loved it. The view from the villa is stunning - the photos really don’t do it justice. It was the nicest of any place we have stayed in. It felt like stepping into a painting. We loved sitting on the veranda or by the pool and watching the beautiful sunset in the evenings. We also enjoyed watching the flock of little birds which flew up from the valley and circled and skimmed the pool every evening. They put on quite a show!

The villa itself is extremely private, with the nearest neighbours being quite a distance away. The building is spacious, nicely furnished and has a very well equipped kitchen, plus a good quality gas bbq. The villa is tastefully decorated and clean throughout. A lot of thought has clearly gone into the renovation with modern touches like the stone staircase blending seamlessly with the original rustic house.

Everyone we dealt with prior, during, and after our stay were helpful, polite and genuinely went the extra mile to ensure we had a fantastic experience.

Volterra is a beautiful historic walled town and is only a short drive away, although the villa is at the end of quite a steep and winding narrow road that adds to the adventure. Our hire car was fine, but if visiting at a more rainy time of year a 4x4 might be helpful.

We would not hesitate to recommend staying at Villa Cantucci. We will be back in the future.
