Escape to Lemonade Cottage, a character-filled Irish country cottage that is more than 100 years old and has been thoughtfully updated to combine original charm with modern comfort.
Our cottage complex was featured on the television series Cheap Irish Homes. Lemonade&nbsp;cottage sits on two acres in the heart of the County Clare countryside, surrounded by working farmland, open fields, sheep and cows. It is wonderfully peaceful and rural, yet still convenient — a local shop is just over one kilometre away and the nearest town is approximately 12 minutes by car.
Inside, the natural stone fireplace immediately gives the cottage a warm, welcoming feel and forms the heart of the spacious open-plan kitchen and living area. There is plenty of room for families or friends to cook, eat and relax together, and the fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, washing machine, oven&nbsp;and everything needed for a comfortable self-catering stay.
The cottage has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main bedroom has a comfortable European king-size bed, while the second bedroom has twin beds, with the option of adding a rollaway bed when required. The living room also has a large pull-out sofa that can sleep two additional guests.
The main bathroom features a jacuzzi bathtub with an overhead shower — perfect for a long soak after a day exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. The second bathroom is smaller but practical and fully functional, making the cottage particularly convenient for families and groups.
One of our favourite parts of Lemonade Cottage is the private “Secret Garden”, a tucked-away patio where guests can barbecue, eat outdoors, enjoy a morning coffee or simply relax in peace. There is also a shared electric hot tub with 56 jets, ideal for unwinding beneath the country sky.
Guests also have access to our separate games room, which offers additional space to gather and includes a foosball table, family games, art supplies and activities for quieter days. It can also be used as an informal space for group meals and evenings together.
Our cottages may be small but having worked in hospitality and travel for more than 30 years, we know that the small details matter. Comfortable mattresses, quality bedding, USB charging points and reliable Starlink Wi-Fi are all provided to make your stay as easy and relaxing as possible.
Lemonade Cottage is also dog-friendly, so four-legged family members are very welcome.
The cottage makes a wonderful base for exploring County Clare and the Wild Atlantic Way. The dramatic cliffs and beaches of Kilkee are approximately 25 minutes away, while Doonbeg and its famous golf course are around 30 minutes away. The colourful market town of Ennis is also approximately 30 minutes away, and Shannon Airport can be reached in around 35 minutes.
