Luxurious bohemian style overlooking one of the most epic views in the Green Mountains. Surrounded by 25,000 acres of National Forest and complete seclusion, yet just a short ride from several towns.
	Spacious, immaculate, modern home with rustic beams and gorgeous wood floors. Each of the three bedrooms (and baths!) have a wonderful view. The master bedroom is massive and has sweeping views out over the Battell Wilderness and the Long Trail. The front of the cottage is a wall of windows overlooking a beautiful pond and the Green Mountain National Forest. No light pollution. No noise except for the tree frogs and the sound of the White River rushing over the rocks far below in the hollow.
It's worth mentioning that Breadloaf Mountain Cottage was a gift that I am grateful for. I still can't believe that I am so lucky to be able to enjoy it frequently. Please understand that those sweeping, epic views you see all around you when you are there, come at a price. Being perched atop a mountain in the wilderness has obvious benefits, but due to frequently changing weather, access and utilities are sometimes a bit more tricky than something in town. Please be prepared to be patient with the weather and the WIFI. While my internet is as good as anywhere in Vermont, it is a rural network and is likely more quirky than urban or suburban utilities. I have a 10mbps service. 
	Breadloaf Mountain Cottage is at the top of a ridge that runs parallel to scenic Route 100. It sits at about 1600 feet above sea level. While completely secluded, it is just 1.3 mile to the Granville Store, and just a few minutes more to Hancock, Rochester and Warren. You could spend weeks just exploring the hiking, biking, swimming and fishing opportunities right from the property!
	Breadloaf Mountain Cottage is located on Forest Road 55, just off scenic Route 100. While it is easily accessible year round, a 4X4 or AWD vehicle is highly recommended in snow and mud. Quality AT or snow rated tires are a must in the winter. This is true generally in Vermont. Come prepared. 
I have a 220 amp car charger hookup, but you must bring your own cord/adapter. This amenity is free of charge. (Pun intended.)
Some of the booking websites like Airbnb don't have a category for swimming pond, so be aware that even though it says "pool available" it is fresh water and not chlorinated. There is no foliage, snakes, turtles or fish in the pond, although there are occasional frogs and salamanders that will pay you no mind. 
Rates are based on double occupancy. Additional guests will incur a $30 nightly charge. $35 fee for Fido. Absolutely no pets on furniture or bedding. You must agree to my <a href="https://www.vermontbackcountrycottages.com/en/3478734/vbc-pet-policy">pet policy</a>.

We absolutely loved our stay at Will’s place. We traveled with our 2 young children and 2 dogs and could not have been happier. The views were absolutely breathtaking.  Plenty to do and explore and an ideal landing spot to come back and relax to soak up the views and outdoors. So many memories made, we highly recommend and we definitely plan to come again!

A trip to remember!

Our family of 5 and our one pup stayed at Williams cottage while on a big New England road trip. We have never been to VT before but quickly fell in love with the area and William’s property. The home had everything you could possibly need, it was the cleanest rental we have ever stayed in (and we travel a lot!)  with killer views and so much peace and quiet. We enjoyed quite a few awesome hikes and day trips but when we were back on the mountain, we loved our time there too. I highly recommend Breadloaf cottage for anyone wanting to escape to a peaceful and beautiful place. Thanks, William!!

A great escape

We have spent two ski seasons (Jan-March) at Breadloaf and could not speak more highly of the home or of Will. We settled in comfortably with our 3 young children and retain countless precious memories of cuddling up by the fire and playing in the snow. We wish we could stay year-round!

Just Fabulous!

We really enjoyed our stay at Breadloaf mountain cottage. The views are wonderful, beds are comfy and the cottage is stylish and well equipped. The surroundings are so peaceful. We enjoyed cooling off in the pond, did a challenging local hike, and visited some of our favorite places nearby. We could have easily stayed a few more days. Definitely would like to stay again someday!

Our family loves staying in this mountain home. The daily daily outside our window is breathtaking. The kids love to explore the pond and catch salamanders and frogs. The beds are comfortable and you have everything you need to just do nothing.
