Green Mountain Cottage has a lighter, more open feel than is typical of the area. Great views and privacy, a babbling brook outside the kitchen window...GMC has all the modern amenities, but is situated right on the edge of 25,000 acres of Green Mountain National Forest and the Breadloaf Wilderness. The headwaters of the White River rush by at the bottom of the hill and the forest road will provide weeks of outdoor fun. Fishing, biking, x-country skiing and snowshoeing, hiking, & swimming!
Green Mountain Cottage can be rented together with Breadloaf Mountain Cottage for your event or family reunion. The two homes are private from one another, but close enough to walk back and forth in a few minutes. They are separated by some woods and a pond. Total capacity is about 13 in beds/couches, although there is plenty of room for air mattresses, and lots of great spots for hammocks, tents, RVs, etc. Rent the entire 13 acre compound!
Rates are based on double occupancy. $30/night/guest after first two. $35 Fido fee charged after booking. Absolutely no pets on the furniture or bedding.

Green Mountain Cottage - Surrounded by National Forest

My husband and I had the opportunity to tour this home and meet the owner last week. We were both blown away by the attention to detail and 100% perfect condition of the home. We loved the vaulted ceiling encompassing the open concept FR / DR / Kitchen. The 1st floor bedroom was a nice touch for those of us who don’t love to climb stairs. The 2nd floor bedroom was an attached loft area overlooking the open concept main floor and can be used for TV, an office, another bed, a kid’s playroom, etc etc. this was truly a spectacular property and I’ll maybe I’ll get one more and also a very good value for long term renting. It’s in Granville, within the Green Mountain National Forrest / Park but there are 3 homes so it is not solitary. An AWD is recommended for winter months. The landlord / owner will is really nice, kind, and takes care of everything. I was really impressed by him and immediately liked him very much. And when I say this house in in 100% perfect condition and the interior has lovely modern Scandinavian-ish decor believe me he left no detail overlooked. If you are looking for a newer highly maintained property this is it. Honor just this one, but also his “Breadloaf” rental on the same road.

Spectacular Open Concept Perfectly Decorated Home

Green Mountain Cottage is located in what I consider a wilderness playground. Bring you bikes, skis, hiking boots, cameras, etc! Walk right out the door and down to the crystal clear White River and explore. Or hike up the Clark Brook trail to the LT. Cottage was clean and well decorated!

An Outstanding Discovery

Green Mountain cottage is the spot to leave your cares at home, chill and not worry about a thing. Its quiet, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Bring your kids, or don't, either way the cottage is well equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. Don't think about it, just go and see for yourself.

Idyllic, modern, spacious, extremely clean, with great attention to detail! Our stay here was lovely for a winter getaway to Sugarbush. The location was serene, and our dog loved the space! William was a communicative, kind, and helpful host. During our stay, we encountered a storm which he ensured we were prepped for ahead of time and attended to snow removal throughout the weekend which was extremely appreciated, not to mention a lot of hard work! Thanks for a lovely stay!

A perfect VT retreat!

We stayed at Will's cottage, which is conveniently located 20 minutes from Sugarbush and 45 minutes from Killington ski resorts. The drive there is scenic, taking you through the charming towns of Waitfield, Warren, and Granville.

A heads-up: the road to the cottage is a bit challenging since it's a rutted dirt road. Vehicles with all-wheel drive (AWD) should manage, but low-clearance cars might struggle. The cottage itself is stunning, surpassing what the photos show. It was fully functional, impeccably clean, and well-equipped.

Will was an excellent host, offering great communication and helpful recommendations. Despite being away, he checked in with us after a major snowstorm left us without power, ensuring we were okay.

Our experience was fantastic, and we're already planning our return. Thanks to Will for a wonderful stay!
