Welcome to McDonald Hill, a luxury farmstay nestled in the heart of the Chittering Valley, less than an hour from Perth - but a world away from the everyday.
Designed exclusively for two, our boutique chalet blends thoughtful luxury with the charm of country life. McDonald Hill welcomes guests aged 18 and over, and to protect our resident animals and local wildlife, pets are not permitted.
Wake to rolling valley views, enjoy farm-fresh eggs for breakfast, meet and feed the animals, then spend the afternoon exploring nearby wineries including Stringybark Winery, Landing 7 and Nesci Estate Wine Farm, or simply enjoying your private sauna and plunge pool.
For something a little different, make your way to the Hilltop Soak - a private lookout perched high above the property. Watch the sunrise over the Chittering Valley or return at sunset for a soak in the outdoor wood-fired bath (optional add-on available 1 June - 30 September), with panoramic views across the surrounding countryside.
Back at the chalet, relax on the deck with a morning coffee, fire up the BBQ or spend the evening stargazing through the telescope. As the sun goes down, gather around the fire pit (season permitting) and enjoy the peace and quiet of the valley.
Inside, you'll find a thoughtfully appointed kitchenette with a two-burner cooktop, breakfast bar, bar fridge and coffee machine, along with a Smart TV and complimentary Wi-Fi. Unwind beside the Roaring Meg fireplace before finishing the day with a shower beneath the skylight.
Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a romantic getaway or simply craving a slower pace, McDonald Hill is a place to switch off and experience the best of the Chittering Valley.

McDonald Hill

Me and my partner had an amazing weekend celebrating our anniversary. Everything from the start was great! You can tell that they’ve put a lot of care and love into it. We will have to come back in winter to enjoy the Hilltop soak!

McDonald Hill was the most relaxing stay. Highly recommend and will be returning. Unwind, soak, hike all whilst surrounded by beautiful animals and a peaceful back drop. Ideal getaway.

McDonald Hill - or should I say McDonald Chill? This is the most relaxing and luxurious farm stay I’ve ever experienced. The owners have thoughtfully curated every detail to make sure you feel truly cared for and return home refreshed. From the plush towels and linen, cute animals to the stunning views from the plunge pool, every part of the stay is exceptional. Spending golden time with the animals was a real highlight. We loved it so much that we’ve already booked our next stay!If you’re on the fence about booking, take this as your sign to hit that book button. It’s worth every cent!

The property is absolutely beautiful, with such a peaceful atmosphere and stunning surroundings. It really is the perfect place to slow down, switch off and enjoy a little slice of country paradise. One of our favourite parts of the stay was feeding the animals at golden hour, such a special experience to indulge in our rural background again! You can tell so much love and thought has gone into creating this beautiful little getaway. Everything was so thoughtfully presented, and the whole experience was everything we could have hoped for and more.We made some really lovely memories during our time here and were genuinely sad to leave. Such a special place that we would happily visit again and recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing country escape. Thank you for a beautiful stay!-Avril & Oli

The property is absolutely beautiful

We had the most incredible experience at McDonald Hill! Every little detail felt so thoughtfully considered. From chocolate and marshmallows ready to toast over the fire, to the farm-fresh eggs, local honey and bottle of wine waiting for us, the owners go above and beyond to make sure everything is taken care of, and you can relax and unwind. We loved soaking in the tub up on the hill, with bubbles and beautiful views that made it the perfect spot to watch the sunset. We also got to meet the Highland cows and even had a chance to feed the animals at golden hour. You can tell a lot of care has gone into creating the beautiful space and creating the experience. We definitely recommend staying at McDonald Hill and will be dreaming of our next escape there :)
