“Looe is a timeless Cornish harbour where the sea meets storybook charm.” – Lonely Planet
Teglio's is a converted 19th-century fish palace retaining its original character alongside contemporary luxury with a dedicated parking space for guests.
Highlights
Uninterrupted harbour views from every principal room, with south-west light filling the accommodation throughout the day
Games area featuring a pool table, foosball and home theatre with 65” media wall.
Perched directly on East Looe’s historic quay, this property stands as a remarkable tribute to Cornwall’s maritime heritage. Built in 1876 by “Fireout Pengelly”, our great-great-grandfather, this three-storey former pilchard packing factory has been transformed into an exquisite 3,200-square-foot residence.
Accommodation is arranged across the upper two floors, with every principal room commanding an uninterrupted outlook over Looe Harbour towards West Looe. Oriented to the south-west, the home is bathed in natural light, offering a front row seat to the gentle procession of fishing boats and pleasure craft gliding along the river.
Awarded Visit England’s highest distinction, 5 Stars with the Gold Award, this property balances industrial heritage with sophisticated comfort. The chef’s kitchen and stone-topped bar create the perfect space for entertaining and is open to the dining area with an antique mahogany dining table. Adjacent, the vast living area includes seating for 10-12 together with a pool table, foosball and home theatre. Four well-appointed bedrooms include three super-king and one standard double, with two additional occasional single beds available when needed, allowing eight guests in the four bedrooms or up to ten with the occasional beds. Four bathrooms (two of which are ensuite) ensure privacy and ease.
The setting amplifies the experience. Looe doubles as the fictional town of Shipton Abbott in the television series Beyond Paradise, and the famed “Ten Mile Kitchen” known locally as the Sardine Factory sits directly opposite. The beach and Banjo Pier lie less than 200 metres away, surrounded by a genuine collection of pubs, restaurants, and shops. Pets are welcome upon approval. This is not merely a residence but a piece of Cornish history, reimagined for the discerning traveller.

TEGLIO'S ... An Historic Harbour Masterpiece

If you don’t mind being in the middle of everything it’s a great place to stay. Everything is handy even got a pasty for breakfast this morning which was literally 50 yards from where we are staying!
The apartment is one of the best equipped think we have ever stayed in we brought our own mugs from home because you do tend to get rather small mugs at these places but they have large, normal, massive wine glasses ... everything you need!
I'm struggling really to find a negative ... bedrooms are superb, showers are good and general accommodation is wonderful plenty of space ... superb property.

A great place to stay

A beautiful house in the perfect location in Looe.Stunning rivers views from most rooms . Large open plan top floor which has kitchen, TV, dining and pool table. Recommended.

A beautiful house in the perfect location

Our weekend away was perfect, it was great for family groups, we had an amazing time exploring Looe and the surrounding Cornish coastline, right on the SW coastal path - highly recommended ❤️

A Perfect Weekend

We booked to stay at Teglios for a 60th wedding anniversary celebration.
James was very helpful in the preceding weeks, ensuring all would be well for our intergenerational group, recommending places to eat, and genuinely wanting us to enjoy our stay. On the day of arrival, James contacted us to make sure we had accessed the accommodation OK, and that we had settled in after arriving. The accommodation is beautiful, with contemporary ensuites, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, warm rooms, and even a pool table and table football - enjoyed by us all. I particularly enjoyed watching the fishing boats returning up the river, and the lively activity in the street below. There is lots to do in Looe - we went on several boat trips, and enjoyed them all. So a big thank you James! We would warmly and enthusiastically recommend Teglios to others, and may well be back ourselves one day.

A big thank you!

Wow. Group of 7 of us went. So much space and just stunning. We all had a wonderful time...and it was the middle of February.
Gorgeous Home. Gorgeous Host. Gorgeous Time. Thank you James
