River Road Loj - Lake Placid log cabin rental

The Loj had more than enough space for 7, there were more beds than people. The living & kitchen area is huge and we spent most of our time there, when indoors. The deck and fire pit were big hits when it was nice out. Also, the hot tub -- which was kept ready and warm!

Lots of outdoor stuff to do within 10-15 drive of the Loj. And return to beers on the deck!

The host was friendly, responsive and eager to see we got the most out of the stay!

Had a great time! (college reunion for 7)

This was our third annual gathering in Lake Placid to celebrate what would have been our mom's 85th birthday with our Aunt and female cousins. This was our first time staying at the River Rd. Lodge., and it won't be our last.

The arrival and departure procedures were seamless and every aspect of the house and property was immaculate and organized. Johnathan is a top-notch communicator, be it through emails, the lodge binder, or talking face-to-face. The expectations for the property are clear. 

It sounds like a small perk, but we really appreciated the towel racks and coat stands in the bathrooms and bedrooms. The complimentary wood, kindling, and paper were stacked ready-for-use in the rack next to the grandiose 2-story fireplace. We had the most powerful moments sitting around the all-encompassing dining room table whilst eating, playing cards and board games, reminiscing, and just hanging out. 

We found ourselves walking over to the front windows at all times of the day to observe the light on Whiteface Mountain - absolutely breathtaking! Our ventures into the village were so much fun - The Boat Bar, Big Slide Brewery, The Marcy Bar Room at the Grand Adirondack Hotel, and of course, The Cottage at The Mirror Lake Inn, not to mention the unique shops like Cunningham’s Ski Barn, Pure Placid, Adirondack Popcorn Company, Adirondack Chocolates, and The Mike Eruzioni Team Shop. The village is always energized and festive, but how wonderful to head back to River Rd. with a clean hot tub, a crackling fire, and the warmth of an Adirondack Lodge. Thank you, Johnathan!

A Place to Remember!

Our stay at this beautiful log home was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the craftsmanship of the home, the thoughtful interior decor, and the immaculate cleanliness inside and out. Nestled in a peaceful, private setting with sweeping views of the forest and Whiteface Mountain, it felt like a true retreat—yet it was still incredibly convenient to downtown Lake Placid, local attractions, and hiking trails suitable for all skill levels.

Even while the town was buzzing from hosting a major sporting event, the River Road Loj remained serene and quiet. Evenings spent gazing at the night sky were peaceful and mornings on the front porch, soaking in the mountain air and scenery, were equally relaxing. The well-appointed kitchen and large dining table made it easy for our three-generation family to dine together, while the layout of the home provided plenty of space for everyone to have the opportunity for some privacy, rest and reflection.

This stay gave us a rare chance to slow down, reconnect, and create lasting memories together. The owner and his mother clearly take great pride in the property—the home was spotless and perfectly prepared for our arrival, and small details had been carefully attended to. We would wholeheartedly recommend River Road Loj to anyone looking for beauty, comfort, privacy, and peace in the Adirondacks.

Peaceful, relaxing, and scenic getaway in the Adirondacks

We had planned a white Christmas and come from afar where a white Christmase never happens. Our stay was 5 star at all levels from the start of our booking process until the day we left! It was a multi-generational family stay for us with grandparents, children and grandchildren and the spaces over three levels of the house and activities were enjoyed by us all. Snow sledding down the drive on Christmas Day, building a snowman, relaxing in the hot tub and playing games and sitting around a beautiful log fire with a magnificent Christmas tree ... the dream was real! Comfy beds, warm bedrooms and bathrooms, and a well equiped kitchen made us feel at home. Johnathon was a wonderful host with clear communication and and with his attention to detail, we felt we knew exactly what was expected. We appreciated him sharing his beautiful home with us at such a special time of year. Thank you Johnathon.

We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful home—it was the perfect getaway! The house was spotlessly clean, which we truly appreciated. The views from the living room matched the photos exactly! Johnathan was an excellent host who respected our privacy, shared fantastic hiking recommendations, and even offered to pick up our Uber Eats order on our first night while we settled in. There was plenty of complimentary wood for fires both indoors and out, making us feel right at home. Thank you—we will most certainly be back!
