LUXURY PUAKO BEACHFRONT ESTATE and GUESTHOUSE

This is the second time we have rented this house on Puako Beach Drive. We love the area and the ease of having family and friends in this house and the adjacent ohana. The house is well maintained and equipped and the spaces are well thought out. Even with 6 adults and a 10 month old, there was always a private space when you need one. All the bedrooms have en suite baths, so no need to share. We enjoyed cooking every night since reservations were still scarce during the pandemic. The kitchen has everything you need, including a lot of spices, cooking oil, and whatever someone has left behind for the next person! Using the cooktop gave me the opportunity try induction, of which I was skeptical, but I was surprised that I actually really liked it! We enjoyed visiting Da Fish House to get catch of the day, poke, and other goodies they have there. Snorkeling is excellent here, there is plenty of gear available, although we brought our own, and it is always fun to walk the lava beach and see the turtles and other wild life. One day we saw dolphins from the kitchen window! There is an office on the second floor where I was able to work occasionally while the rest of the crew was downstairs doing other things. I even recorded a Zoom presentation for a national meeting. We love eating on the deck and examining the changing scenes and names painted on the table over time. I could go on, but it's probably most meaningful to say that we look forward to a third visit to Hale Ama!

Second Time We Rented

Joe was the most wonderful host, apart from having a trip designer he himself was very gracious in many ways including with his time. The management of the house is excellent , and this may have been the cleanest vacation rental we have ever stayed at. Not a single spot was left untouched, very impressive.The home itself could be more perfectly furnished and decorated, very lovely and we are already planning another trip back, can’t wait!

Planning Another Trip

The house was amazing!! It was very clean and well stocked. It was in a great location—the view was wonderful. It was an awesome place to go snorkeling too. The only amenity that would have enhanced our stay would have been air conditioning throughout. On the really hot days, the main entertaining area was uncomfortably hot. The owner said he would consider it. If he decided to upgrade with air conditioning, then I would strongly consider making this a yearly family trip destination.

The House Was Amazing

My family and I had such a great time at Hale Ama. The house was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Amazing views and a perfect location. The hosts were incredibly communicative and got back to us quickly when we had questions. We will definitely be returning in the future.
