Welcome to the Iconic Play House on Parsons Beach
KPort Concierge is honored to present a rare vacation experience at the historic Play House. Cherished by generations of the Parsons family and their fortunate guests, this legendary coastal home pairs a rich story with an unmatched oceanfront location.
Built in 1909, the Play House has hosted countless memorable gatherings over the decades—including visits from famous guests like Cole Porter, who was a Yale roommate and fellow glee club member of Humphrey Parsons. Today, you can step into that same coastal magic, just 40 yards from the gently sloping, private sands of highly sought-after Parsons Beach.
Inside, history meets modern leisure:
The Kitchen Hub: The heart of the home features a large, well-equipped kitchen designed for gathering. Relax across cozy seating, bar stools, or the kitchen table, or step directly out onto the back deck.
Fun & Games: A fully stocked game closet ensures endless evening entertainment for guests of all ages.
Restful Quarters: Down the hall, you’ll find three comfortable bedrooms- two of which open to front balconies showcasing sweeping ocean views. The bathrooms have a unique configuration. The home has two powder rooms (toilet & sink) and one bathroom with a shower and sink.
Unrivaled Outdoor Living
While the home offers incredible charm and comfort, the sparkling Atlantic steals the show:
Morning Coffee & Lawn Games: Step out the front door onto a grassy terrace framed by vibrant flower gardens—the perfect spot for morning coffee or outdoor games.
Effortless Beach Days: Take a short stroll across the lawn to your private sandy beach. Water lovers can bring kayaks and paddleboards right to the shore—store them overnight on the beach deck so they’re ready for tomorrow’s adventures.
Dual Outdoor Decks: Unwind on the beachside deck overlooking the water, or head to the back deck for an alfresco meal on the grill and a refreshing rinse in the private outdoor shower.
Thoughtful Amenities & Prime Location
We’ve taken care of the details so you can travel light: all linens, bath towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas are provided.
When you're ready to explore, you're perfectly positioned:
3 Miles to Dock Square: Explore boutique shopping, waterfront dining, boat tours, museums, and vibrant weekly events.
Minutes to Wells & Local Favorites: Enjoy quick access to neighboring Wells dining and legendary local treats, including Big Daddy’s—home to the best ice cream in Maine!
Please note: This listing offers exclusive access to a portion of the iconic Play House, which connects to an adjacent residential unit. The two living spaces share only a single wall, separated by a secure, locked boundary to ensure complete privacy during your stay.
