On the outskirts of Medstead village, in the corner of a field where shire horses once roamed, you’ll find a tiny home like no other. Once hauled to and fro for Polo and Shire shows, The Horse Hut has been lovingly transformed into a luxury holiday stay—while maintaining its horsey heritage.

Lotus Spa Hot Tub

Oh, yes, there’s a hot tub in a Lotus Elan! Set the mood for your sporty-style soak, using the built-in radio. The Lotus Spa is covered from the elements and stays hot all year round, so you’re good to go whatever the weather.

Watch the Sunset

Survey a stunning vista of Hattingley Valley. Step up onto the verandah as the evening sun bathes the land in golden tones. The Horse Hut is peaceful yet private, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, yet local pubs and shops are not far away. From here you can watch the sun fall over the horizon until the sky reveals the stars at night.

Outdoor Fun

Sit around the fire pit, roast marshmallows, and sip hot chocs on the patio. While you’re there, keep an eye and ear out for local wildlife, from red kites gliding above to the sound of owls at night. If the rain starts coming down, crack open some wine and relax under the large roof of the verandah.

Keeping It Cosy

If the weather turns chilly, fire up the log burner inside. Along with electric heating and proper insulation, you’ll feel warm on the coldest of winter days.

A Serious Cook Up

When it’s time for food, fire up the pizza oven or get a barbecue going. Inside, you’ll also find an oven, microwave, and hobs. While you’re cooking up a feast, put on a record and turn up the radio. Serve up dinner and drinks at the bar outside and give a warm welcome to the local cows if they stop by to say hello.

Your Private Retreat

The Horse Hut, adorned with retro signage and horsey paraphernalia, feels like your private ranch in the heart of the British countryside. Both luxurious and rustic, charming and a touch eccentric, come stay somewhere you'll not soon forget.

The Horse Hut & Lotus Spa

Lots of great memories unlocked while staying in the horse hut. The Spa was something else! A spectacular place and a unique build. It’s fantastic for a very quiet and peaceful get away, so thank you!

Amazing views from the veranda!

The location is peaceful and beautiful. Loads of great features. We loved the hot tub, BBQ and Pizza Oven.Ralph was super helpful whenever we needed anything, and has created a unique and brilliant place. Would recommend a visit to Hattingley Valley Wines as well. Interesting tour, and really good wine!

We had a lovely stay for our anniversary.

make it a relaxing and beautiful place to unwind and forget about life. From the stunning sunset that can be watched from the funky Lotus hottub to the laid back chairs in front of the firepit. Can't wait to sample some of your other great locations. 😋

The finishing touches and detail Ralph and co have put in to this

in the English countryside en route to the USA. After renting a car from Heathrow, we embarked on a truly enchanting experience, with our stay at the Horse Hut being the highlight. The picturesque surroundings exuded tranquillity, offering a refreshing escape from the bustling city life. The interior of the Horse Hut itself was flawlessly designed tiny house, providing the ideal cosy retreat one craves for a truly memorable stay. And to top it all off, the lotus hot tub was a treat, particularly on chilly evenings after a day of activities. Without hesitation, we highly recommend this delightful haven to anyone seeking a magical getaway in England.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Horse Hut during our brief two-day layover

Enjoyed watching the sunsets whilst roasting marshmallows (also provided for us) by the open fire pit. The hot tub was incredible, clean and easy to use! The field of cows in front of the stay just made it that bit more memorable.

Had a couple of nights here and made good use of the pizza oven and BBQ!
