Lofoten Luxury Home sits in Myran, a quiet cluster of houses right on the edge of Reine — the village widely considered the beating heart of the Lofoten Islands, and one of Norway's most photographed places. From the living room, the terraces and even the outdoor sauna, you look straight out over the Reine fjord toward Olstinden, the dramatic peak rising behind the village that appears in almost every postcard of the region. Few holiday homes in Lofoten can match this exact spot: close enough to walk into the village, yet perched right at the water's edge with nothing but fjord and mountains in front of you. This is also a front-row seat to the Arctic's biggest natural spectacles. In summer, pods of orcas regularly hunt herring and mackerel in the fjord, and the coastline around Reine and Hamnøy is one of the best places in Norway to spot them from land — no boat required. In the dark months, the same panoramic windows turn into a private viewing gallery for the northern lights, which appear directly above the fjord on clear nights. Whatever the season, there's always something to watch: sea eagles, seals, the changing light on the mountains, fishing boats coming home to Reine's harbour. Inside, the house is built for exactly this kind of watching — and for genuinely switching off. The heart of the home is a large, open living-and-dining kitchen: a high-end fitted kitchen with induction cooktop, dishwasher and oven, a proper dining table, and a wood-burning stove that turns any grey Lofoten day instantly cosy. Three separate bedrooms (sleeping 6 between a double and two twin rooms) and one bathroom sleep the family comfortably in complete privacy. Two further sofa beds upstairs can sleep 2 more guests, and an optional fold-out extra bed can add a 9th spot — though those additional guests share the open loft space rather than a private room. The open loft gallery above the living area holds a sofa and a large TV for lazy evenings, plus a dedicated desk with a fjord view — a genuinely good place to get work done if you're combining a Lofoten trip with remote work, not just a corner with a laptop balanced on your knees. Step outside to your own outdoor sauna, with a large panoramic window looking straight out over the fjord — as good in July, watching the midnight sun, as it is in January, sweating out the cold before a dash into the crisp Arctic air. Several terraces wrap around the house, giving you more than one spot to catch the sun, the wind, or the show overhead, depending on the day. The house works equally well for a family holiday, a longer creative retreat, or a few romantic days away — the layout gives everyone room to spread out, while the open kitchen and living area keep the group together when you want to be. It has been finished to a standard that leaves nothing to be desired, indoors or out. This is about as central as it gets in the lower Lofoten. It's a short walk to Reine's supermarket, or two minutes by car, and the trailhead for Reinebringen — the iconic mountain hike with the classic view down over Reine — is within walking distance of the house. A few minutes further and you can be kayaking on the fjord with a local guide, or wandering the red fishermen's cabins of Hamnøy, one of the most photographed fishing villages in the world. Reine's harbour also runs a passenger ferry across to Vindstad, from where a short hike leads to Bunes Beach, a wide white-sand beach hemmed in by cliffs — you can even watch the ferry glide past the house on its way there. The Moskenes ferry terminal, for the connection to Bodø, is just 12 minutes away by car, and the historic fishing village of Å, with its famous old bakery, sits at the very end of the road. For a bigger day out, the surf beaches around Lofoten Beach Camp and the dramatic Kvalvika Beach are within easy reach further north. In short: this house is a genuine must-stay base for exploring both Reine itself and the best of the southern Lofoten Islands.
