The house at Høynes is a well-maintained log house from the 19th century, located in the middle of Lofoten. The house is located in the middle between the cities of Leknes and Svolvær, which makes this an excellent location to experience Lofoten. The house is located in a rural location, in a very quiet area. There is a private garden with exit to the sea line. With large windows facing the sea, you can often sit inside with a coffee cup and watch sea eagles and other wildlife.

Cozy cottage at the Atlantic coast

We stayed in the cabin for a month in May and June and could not have wished for a better vacation. The views from windows on both sides were breathtaking, we could sit for hours in the living room just admiring the view and watching the wildlife: birds nesting, eagles occasionally flying by, weasels passing by the garden, otters hunting in the waters or moose feeding on a hill nearby. The huge windows were so inviting that it was just natural to become an observer of this every spectacle on the other side. To top that off, the coast looked gorgeous in the midnight sun light.

The cottage was indeed super cozy and the kitchen was surprisingly really well-equipped - much better than I've seen in other rentals. It was truly both a great base for exploring the rest of the archipelago as well as a place for staying in and relaxing on the spot.

Last but not least, the staff was super friendly and helpful. We'll definitely book again with them when we're back to Lofoten :)

Remarkable stay
