You stretch, feeling the cool sea breeze brush across your skin, and hear the soft rhythm of waves rolling just steps from your door. The air carries the scent of salt and hibiscus, mingling with the promise of a slow, sun-soaked day ahead. Welcome to Mellow Yellow Beach House, your private Caribbean beachfront retreat in the heart of Hopkins Village, Belize.
Inside, the warmth of handcrafted Belizean hardwood surrounds you, rich tones of mahogany, Nargusta, and Santa Maria glowing softly in the morning light. Upstairs, two master suites welcome you with cozy queen beds, soft linens, and gentle sea breezes drifting through the windows. Your ensuite bathroom feels like a spa: dual sinks, rain showers tiled in natural stone, and the faint aroma of tropical soap.
Downstairs, our two newly added bedrooms bring even more space to unwind. Freshly finished and fully furnished with queen beds, they give everyone in your group a private space to rest after a day in the sun, so there's no squeezing in and no compromising. With four bathrooms throughout the home, mornings are easy and unhurried.
Step into your great room, where vaulted 20-foot ceilings open the space like a cathedral to the sea. The fully equipped kitchen gleams with granite countertops, gas range, dishwasher, and filtered water system, everything you need to prepare fresh seafood or blend tropical fruit smoothies. And with a second full kitchen, larger groups and families can cook, snack, and spread out without ever getting in each other's way. You can almost taste the sweetness of mango and the zest of lime as you imagine cooking here.
A dedicated guest laundry with washer and dryer makes long, carefree stays effortless. Pack light and stay as long as you like.
At the breakfast/snack bar, you'll sip Belizean rum while chatting with friends or your partner as the scent of grilled snapper drifts in from the beach. The open-concept living area invites you to relax on plush seating or curl up in the cozy reading nook with a good book. Overhead, ceiling fans spin lazily, keeping the air cool and soothing.
As the afternoon unfolds, step outside onto your oceanfront deck. The texture of sun-warmed tiles under your feet, the sound of palms rustling, and the endless blue horizon will make you forget what day it is. Two hammocks sway in the gentle wind, perfect for an afternoon nap or just watching the clouds drift by.
When evening comes, climb the spiral staircase to your rooftop terrace, a 360° view of paradise. The sky glows with streaks of pink and gold with views of Victoria Peak and the Maya Mountains to the west, and as night falls, you'll see constellations glittering above while the waves murmur below. It's the kind of beauty that slows time, that reminds you why you came.
Down on the sand, your private palapa waits, complete with a picnic table, beach loungers, hammock chairs, and towels. The faint sound of laughter drifts from nearby Hopkins Village, just steps away. You can smell coconut from a local stand, hear music echo from a beach bar, and feel the soft rhythm of Belizean life.
Everything you need is within walking distance: grocery stores, restaurants, and the friendly faces of locals who make Hopkins so special. If you'd like to explore further, your 4-seater golf cart rental is ready to take you on new adventures.

Beach House-Hopkins Belize- 4BR

My wife and I spent a week at The Mellow Yellow House in mid January. In researching, we chose the location because it was not in a heavy resort area and Hopkins is a smaller town. It turned out to be an excellent choice.
The Mellow Yellow House is a beautiful property. It sits on the Caribbean beach near the center of Hopkins. We found out that the first 50 feet of beach, from the waterline, is public so you can stroll as much as you wish. The house is clean, up to date and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and welcoming. We had only positive interaction with the owners and they were friendly and timely in their responses.
We found plenty to do and see. The Mayan World Destinations Area offers hiking, tubing, ziplining, atv rides, horseback riding, and waterfall pool swims. We booked a boat, with captain, and went island hopping for an afternoon. You can snorkel or spearfish as options on the boat. We took a day trip to the capitol, Belmopan, and shopped at the open market. There are also Mayan ruins to explore.
We found the people of Hopkins to be friendly and helpful. The population is a blend of natives and ex-pats from all over the world. Everyone speaks English so communication is not an issue.
The Mellow Yellow House has a nice, comfortable kitchen and dining area but we chose to dine out much of the time. There are well-stocked grocery stores as well as fresh fruit and vegetable stands if you choose to cook. There are many bar/grill type, open air restaurants throughout the town that serve a variety of fresh fare from breakfast to late dinner. Many are within walking distance. There is no lack of good food and beverages!
To sum up, 10/10, we are planning to return to The Mellow Yellow House and hopefully sooner than later!

Loved our stay!

I cannot say enough good things about Mellow Yellow beach house. It’s situated in the village of Hopkins and convenient to so many good local restaurants and grocery stores. The property is nicely appointed and well maintained. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large refrigerator, a stove and dishwasher. The living area leads out to a deck with a table, chairs, and hammocks. All with a stunning view of the beach framed by palm trees. Mornings where spent on the deck with coffee watching the sunrise and evenings on the upper terrace, gazing at the stars. Mirko was the property manager and the one problem we had was dealt with as swiftly as possible. All in all, it was a great two weeks at Mellow Yellow and we hope to stay there again in the future.

Fantastic

I am SO GRATEFUL to have had the opportunity to vacation at Mellow Yellow Beach House and I highly recommend staying at this gem! 🤩It is now one of my most favorite places on the planet and can't WAIT to go back! The trip there, so FUN! Instead of driving from the airport to Hopkins, I took a puddle jumper on Mayan Air to Dangriga where my friends picked me up! The villagers in Hopkins are SO NICE! Every morning I walked with my friends and as we walked the main road, everyone waved and said good morning! The beach house is so beautiful, spacious, sleeps 4 people comfortably, even equipped with private bathrooms for both rooms. Honestly, the home reminds me of living in Italy! My favorite part, the main deck! Every morning, we'd sit on the deck, drinking coffee and watching the sunrise on the beach. It was January and I was able to swim at 6:15am right outside the gated sandy backyard, while the sun rose! There is one grocery store, practically right across the street along with amazing bars and restaurants! I'd also highly recommend booking a scuba, snorkeling or bioluminescence tour with Happy Go Luckie Tours! We took a boat out to two reefs, caught our lunch and hung out on Bread & Butter Island! The crew, they are AMAZING! At night, we ventured up on the top deck of the house to star gaze! It was truly an amazing adventure and if you are looking for a Zen space, with the ocean waves in the background, full of positive amazing energy and amazing people, book a trip today to Mellow Yellow Beach House!

AMAZING HOME & VILLAGE!

Absolutely LOVED my stay here. It was comfortable, clean, with amazing views. The mornings on the deck overlooking the beach were the best. Everything we needed - full kitchen, 2 full baths, AC, fans... it was there for my friend and I travelling together. Perfectly located for easy walking to local bars and restaurants. The food in Hopkins was outstanding. I'll come back just for that. Massages on the beach under the palapa was probably my favorite. Can't get more relaxing than that. Thank you to the hosts - they were fabulous. 5-stars!

Perfect Getway

We stayed at Mellow Yellow for two weeks last of March and first of April, 2023. This was our 5 vacation to Hopkins but our first in Mellow Yellow. This beach front home is so comfortable and relaxing! We cannot say enough good things about the house, the manager—Mirko or the location in town. It is walking distance to practically everything. Mirko was quite helpful with any needs and advice. We highly recommend this beach house!
