Shady Pines: A Secluded Gulf-Front Escape in Fort Morgan

Welcome to Shady Pines, a peaceful Fort Morgan beach house where natural shoreline, coastal wildlife and wide-open views replace the crowds and high-rise surroundings found in busier beach destinations.

Tucked away on eight Gulf-front acres near the western end of the Fort Morgan Peninsula, Shady Pines offers a setting unlike almost anything else on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. The home sits high on a dune overlooking picturesque coastal grassland, with a winding nature trail leading toward the beach.

From the spacious decks, guests can watch osprey and shorebirds soar above the landscape, enjoy the coastal breeze and take in beautiful Gulf Coast sunsets. It is a place where families can slow down, reconnect and experience the beach the way it used to be.

The name Shady Pines is a playful tribute to The Golden Girls, but there is nothing retirement-home-like about this lively coastal getaway. Bring your favorite people, settle into island time and prepare to have a Golden Time of your own.

Space for Families and Groups

Shady Pines is a three-bedroom, two-bath vacation home accommodating up to 11 guests. Its flexible sleeping arrangements make it well suited for families, groups of friends and multigenerational vacations.

Sleeping arrangements include:

Two king beds

One twin bunk bed

One twin-over-full bunk bed

A sleeper sofa

The two king sleeping areas give adults comfortable places to recharge, while the bunk arrangements provide practical accommodations for children, teenagers or additional guests.

With two full bathrooms, a spacious living area and multiple outdoor spaces, Shady Pines gives everyone room to gather without feeling crowded.

Comfortable Coastal Living

The living room offers a relaxed place to spend time together after a day at the beach. Settle in for a movie, play a board game, share stories from the day or simply enjoy a quiet evening with the people you came to see.

The home’s comfortable coastal style complements the natural landscape outside without feeling overly formal. Shady Pines is designed to be enjoyed—whether your family has just returned from the beach or everyone is settling in for a peaceful night at home.

Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace are available for guests who need to check in with work, complete school assignments or stay connected during a longer visit.

Fully Equipped Kitchen

The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals throughout your stay. Cook breakfast before heading to the beach, pack a picnic lunch or gather everyone for a relaxed family dinner.

Kitchen and dining amenities include:

Refrigerator and freezer

Stove and oven

Microwave

Dishwasher

Coffee maker

Toaster

Blender

Cooking utensils

Dishes and silverware

Baking sheets

Wine glasses

Dining table

Hot-water kettle

Charcoal grill and barbecue utensils

Because Shady Pines is located near the end of the Fort Morgan Peninsula, guests may find it convenient to purchase groceries and vacation supplies before traveling down Fort Morgan Road.

Two Spacious Decks

Two spacious decks extend the living experience outdoors and provide room to appreciate the property’s unique setting.

Start the morning with coffee and the sounds of coastal birds. Spend the afternoon reading in the breeze, or gather outside as the evening light settles over the surrounding landscape.

Outdoor amenities include:

Two spacious decks

Outdoor furniture

Outdoor dining area

Sun loungers

Charcoal grill

Private porch

Outdoor shower

Beach essentials

Space to enjoy the coastal surroundings

The elevated setting provides sweeping views across the grassland and nature trail toward the Gulf.

Follow the Nature Trail Toward the Beach

One of the most memorable features of Shady Pines is the winding nature trail leading from the home toward the shoreline.

Rather than stepping from a high-rise development onto a crowded beach, guests follow a path through the property’s natural coastal landscape. The walk becomes part of the experience, offering opportunities to watch birds, notice seasonal changes and enjoy the open surroundings.

The beach near Fort Morgan generally feels quieter and less developed than the shoreline around central Gulf Shores. Spend the day swimming, walking, looking for shells, building sandcastles, surf fishing or simply listening to the Gulf.

Guests should remain on established paths to protect dunes and native vegetation. Always check the daily beach warning flags before entering the water, and remember that natural beach and trail conditions may change with weather and the seasons.

A Rare Eight-Acre Gulf-Front Setting

Shady Pines is not a typical subdivision beach house. Its eight-acre setting creates a sense of space and separation that can be difficult to find along developed portions of the Gulf Coast.

The home sits back from the water on an elevated dune, overlooking open coastal grassland and the path toward the beach. Guests should expect a natural setting rather than a manicured resort environment.

That natural character is part of what makes Shady Pines special. You may see osprey, herons, egrets, migratory birds, crabs and other coastal wildlife during your stay.

Observe wildlife from a respectful distance, never feed wild animals and avoid leaving food unattended outdoors.

Pet-Friendly With Prior Arrangement

Shady Pines welcomes approved pets with prior arrangement, allowing the whole family to enjoy a Fort Morgan getaway together.

Guests traveling with pets should:

Confirm approval before arrival

Follow all applicable pet rules

Supervise pets outdoors

Clean up after them

Protect furniture and linens

Verify pet regulations before visiting beaches, trails or attractions

Pet policies vary throughout the Fort Morgan area. Dogs are not permitted on trails within Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, so plan pet-friendly activities in advance.

Convenient to Fort Morgan Attractions

Shady Pines offers a secluded atmosphere while remaining near several of the peninsula’s best-known attractions.

Nearby experiences include:

Historic Fort Morgan

Mobile Bay Ferry

Tacky Jacks Fort Morgan

Fort Morgan Marina

Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge

Surf fishing

Fishing charters

Kiva Dunes

Mobile Bay

Dauphin Island day trips

Fort Morgan restaurants and small markets

Central Gulf Shores offers additional restaurants, supermarkets, shopping and family attractions. Travel times vary with traffic and the season, so combine errands and activities when possible.

Additional Amenities

Shady Pines includes:

Accommodations for up to 11 guests

Three bedrooms

Two full bathrooms

Two king beds

Two bunk arrangements

Sleeper sofa

Fully equipped kitchen

Two spacious decks

Outdoor dining

Charcoal grill

Outdoor shower

Beach essentials

Wi-Fi

Dedicated workspace

Washer and dryer

Central heating and air conditioning

Private entrance

Parking

Board games

Bed linens and bathroom essentials

Pet-friendly accommodations with prior arrangement

Important Information

Shady Pines is located in a natural coastal environment. Guests may encounter insects, birds, crabs and other wildlife. Weather, tides and storms can affect the beach, trail and surrounding landscape.

The home sits back from the shoreline, and guests reach the beach by following the nature trail. Anyone with limited mobility should consider the distance and natural terrain before booking.

Children must be supervised on the decks, trail and beach. There is no lifeguard provided, and Gulf conditions can change quickly.

Shady Pines is a nonsmoking property. Pets are permitted only with prior arrangement.

Rent Shady Pines and Blanche’s Boudoir Together

Blanche’s Boudoir is located beside Shady Pines and may be reserved separately, subject to availability.

Booking both properties can be an excellent arrangement for an extended family or larger group. Everyone can vacation in the same location while a couple or small family enjoys additional privacy in the neighboring cottage.

Contact Mountain to Sea Escapes for availability when planning to reserve both homes.

Come Have a Golden Time

Shady Pines offers something increasingly difficult to find: a spacious Gulf-front property surrounded by natural beauty, with room for the people you love and a peaceful path toward the beach.

Wake up to shorebirds, spend the day beside the Gulf and return to the deck as the sun begins to set. Cook together, explore Fort Morgan or simply enjoy having nowhere else you need to be.

If your ideal Alabama beach vacation is less about crowds and more about space, scenery and time together, Shady Pines is ready to welcome you.

Come to Fort Morgan, settle into the quieter side of the Gulf Coast and have a Golden Time at Shady Pines.
