Perched high above the historic heart of Florence, this cozy rooftop apartment offers a authentic, budget-friendly escape with unmatched views of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Nestled directly among the historic terracotta rooftops, the flat features a spectacular private terrace that looks straight onto the magnificent Florence Cathedral (Duomo) and Giotto’s Bell Tower. Step outside with your morning espresso or a glass of local wine, and you will enjoy an exclusive, front-row view of Renaissance history—a panoramic vantage point usually reserved for high-end luxury hotels, but at a fraction of the cost.
Inside, the apartment is full of character, leaning into a charming, lived-in rustic vibe rather than a sterile luxury aesthetic. This is a real, loved home, and it contains many of my personal belongings, books, and decor items. Guests often find that these touches add a warm, inviting soul to the space, making you feel like a true Florentine local rather than just another tourist.
While intimate and modest in scale, the flat is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable, independent stay. To keep you relaxed after a long day of sightseeing, the entire space is fitted with efficient air conditioning. The layout features a compact, functional kitchen and dining area, perfectly suited for whipping up simple meals with fresh ingredients from the nearby markets. A separate, neat bathroom includes a practical shower, toilet, and basin.
The primary trade-off for the affordable price and world-class view is the building's accessibility. Reaching this rustic haven requires climbing four flights of traditional stairs, and there is no lift available.
For budget-conscious travelers, backpackers, or solo adventurers with steady mobility, the daily climb is a small price to pay. What you lose in elevator access, you more than make up for in price, total privacy, and quiet nights far above the bustling city streets. If you are looking for an affordable, honest, and uniquely personal base to experience the romance of Florence, this rooftop hideaway is ready to welcome you.

Top floor flat with terrace overlooking the duomo

Fantastic quirky little flat, and great location. The small but functional roof terrace with amazing views is the icing on the cake.
Lots of stairs so if you’re older and carrying a heavy suitcase it might not be the ideal choice. The mattress is comfy but lacks support in the centre so couples tend to roll towards each other. (There’s probably an easy solution to fix this I imagine)

FANTASTIC QUIRKY LITTLE FLAT

The apartment was perfect and stocked with all the everyday essentials that you might need during your stay. The terrace is incredible with such an amazing view that made it all the more worth it!

THE APARTMENT WAS PERFECT

Beautiful accommodation in a great location. Sandro gave us an impeccable welcome.

Beautiful accomodation in a great location

Great stay, can’t beat the location as it’s within walking distance of nearly everything we did while in Florence. The place looked just liked the photos and had everything we needed. Sandro was helpful in checking us in and getting us settled in. Would definitely recommend for a stay in beautiful Florence.

GREAT STAY

We stayed in this flat last year as well and felt right at home from the very start. The flat is very centrally located and has a fantastic view of the cathedral from the terrace. You just need to bear in mind that you have to climb a few flights of stairs without a lift. But that’s mentioned in the description – so it’s no surprise 😉.
