A little piece of History -
Built in 1883, is this beautiful Victorian home is steeped in coastal charm and history. Nestled in the heart of Ramsgate’s elegant West Cliff area, the house was originally part of a thriving seaside community during the height of the town’s popularity as a fashionable resort for wealthy holidaymakers in the 19th century.
Just around the corner, Spencer Square offers a special cultural connection – the famous artist Vincent van Gogh once lived and worked here in 1876. He lodged at 11 Royal Road and taught at a local school nearby. A statue of Van Gogh now stands proudly in Spencer Square as a tribute to his time in Ramsgate, where he admired the town’s beauty and coastal light, long before he became a household name.
The Paragon itself, with its distinctive architecture and sweeping sea views, was once home to naval officers, merchants, and families enjoying the golden age of British seaside leisure. You’re just a short walk from the Royal Harbour – the only Royal Harbour in the UK – which received its status from King George IV in 1821.
Ramsgate today is a vibrant blend of history and creativity. It remains a picturesque hub, full of life with yachts, fishing boats, and a fantastic selection of independent cafes, restaurants, and shops lining the Marina.
Whether you're here to relax by the sea, explore the town's fascinating past, or soak up its artistic spirit, we hope Clifftop Mews feels like your perfect home-from-home.

CLIFFTOP MEWS - RAMSGATE - PET FRIENDLY

We had a fantastic stay at Nichola's place! The house was impeccably clean and very easy to access. It was perfect for our needs, especially since it was dog-friendly and had a small garden for our furry friend to enjoy. The location was ideal, with easy access to the town. Overall, it was the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. We are definitely coming back and highly recommend it!
