Ojai Mountain Ridge is a secluded luxury villa perched at 3,000 ft. on a gated 40-acre ridge, just 90 min. from Los Angeles. Enjoy sweeping views of vineyards, Lake Casitas, and the Pacific that rival many national parks. Designed for shared stays, villa offers a large kitchen, dining for 12, multiple outdoor spaces, strong Wi-Fi, and work-friendly spaces. 4 bedrooms plus a sleeper sofa accommodate up to 10 guests, with direct access to hiking and biking trails and private wine tastings.
<div>30 minutes from downtown Ojai,&nbsp; and 45 minutes from Santa Barbara, this is the quieter side of the valley. The landscape is wilder, the pace slower, and the setting genuinely restorative. Many guests spend the entire weekend on the mountain without ever needing to leave.</div>

Mornings begin with coffee on the terrace while the light moves across the ridgeline. Hiking trails start at the front gate. A short bike ride brings you to English-style horseback riding lessons. Just up the road, our estate vineyard offers private, guided tours and curated wine tastings.
Families are very much at home here. We provide a crib, high chair, children’s dishware, and a small collection of toys and games, making it easy to travel light while still feeling settled. Large outdoor spaces give kids room to explore while adults unwind.
If you’d like to shape the stay around something special, we can help arrange it. We can refer you to private chefs, yoga instructors for morning flow sessions, and photographers are all available through trusted local partners who know the property and the rhythm of the mountain.
For guests who want time in town, Ojai offers thoughtful dining, boutique shopping, golf, and an easygoing creative energy that feels distinctly local.

Arrival Instructions
The villa is located on Sulphur Mountain above Ojai, about a 30–35 minute drive from downtown Ojai. Access is via a narrow mountain road with curves and elevation gain. Most of the route is paved, with a short unpaved stretch closer to the property that is maintained but rural in character. Standard passenger vehicles reach the property without difficulty in normal weather conditions, though we recommend arriving during daylight for a first visit. During periods of heavier rain, a vehicle with higher clearance or four-wheel drive may be more comfortable for the final stretch.&nbsp;Guests should be comfortable driving mountain roads.
This part of Upper Ojai is known for large private estates and long-established residential properties. The villa sits within a gated mountain area accessed through two private gates. The first gate provides entry to the residential ridge area, limited to residents and authorized renters. The second gate is the entrance to the 40-acre estate itself. Gate codes are provided prior to arrival.
The setting is intentionally private and remote. Many guests choose the property specifically for the quiet location and restricted access to this part of the mountain. The estate also includes a private helipad for guests arriving by air; advance coordination is required prior to arrival.
Remote countryside setting
This is a private vineyard estate in a natural hillside environment. The location is intentionally quiet and secluded, and it is different from staying in town or in a suburban neighborhood.
Evenings are very dark, services are not nearby, and guests should plan accordingly.
Wildlife notice
The home is located on a 40-acre rural vineyard property where wildlife is part of the environment. While the house is professionally maintained and serviced, keeping doors and garage areas closed when not in use helps prevent animals from entering, which can happen in countryside settings.
Weather conditions
During rain or fog, mountain driving conditions can change quickly. Vehicles with good traction are recommended in wet weather.

Ojai Mountain Ridge Estate

We came here for July 4 weekend to get our dogs away from the fireworks. One is very scared of loud noises and older so we were worried about his stress levels. This was the perfect place. We could see at least 6 fireworks shows from high up on the mountain but could barely hear them. Fantastic! The dogs loved stalking the squirrels and bunnies but it was the other wildlife that was amazing. Bobcats, golden eagles, condors, deer, and even a few coyotes (far away) could be seen. We could watch the view and wildlife for days and never get bored. Thank you for the fantastic weekend!

Beautiful!

Wonderful experience! Olga was very communicative and helpful leading up to check in and while we were at the house. The house itself was very comfortable and nicely decorated. It sits at the very top of the mountain, with the most incredible views! It is peaceful and serene. Greg was so kind and made sure we had fresh drinking water. Everyone in our party agreed, it was one of our favorite Airbnbs! I wish it was a little closer to town and the main road, but that is the tradeoff for everything else you get.

Peaceful Getaway

Spotless, stylish and elegant views! This house was beyond our expectations. Normally you worry about the pictures not matching but in this case the views were even more breathtaking in person. We took plenty of time when arriving while daylight to navigate the roads. The directions were easy to follow and the host was extremely responsive before our arrival to make sure everything was perfect. Clean house, great appliances, plenty of space for our family and friends. We will definitely be back. Great location for family getaways or just adults looking for a time away. We took in the views of the Pacific Ocean and vineyard while in the jacuzzi, the hammock and from the banquet table in the courtyard. If you need an oasis away from home and a relaxing escape this is for you!

Stylish & peaceful

We had the most incredible weekend at Ojai Mountain Ridge Estate for my best friend’s bachelorette. I stayed here with six other girls, and I already can’t wait to go back! The house and the views are even more breathtaking than the photos.Shannon and Olga were so hospitable, responsive, thoughtful and helpful before and throughout our stay. They went above and beyond to make our trip special — from arranging activities to helping us book an unforgettable private chef dinner overlooking the sunset.A highlight was the private wine tasting at the winery right next door — such a beautiful experience! We also loved the scenic hiking trail that starts just outside the property. The beds were super comfortable, and the home had plenty of space for everyone. The energy and vibe of the place were just perfect. Can’t recommend this home enough — thank you so much for an amazing experience!

A perfect weekend on the mountain

The best place I’ve stayed in Ojai. The space and views are incredible! Well worth the price. The home is the perfect getaway space, large enough for a big family or a gathering of friends. Dog friendly. While the drive up to the home is further from town than other options, the space and the views more than make up for the distance. The pictures themselves do not do it justice. There are views of the Channel Islands, and sunsets were perfect. The pergola outside was fantastic for large morning breakfasts with friends, and it was an all around great space for entertaining and hanging out. The kitchen was well stocked. Shannon was very kind and flexible with my questions. I would definitely stay here again.
