The Stables is the ideal luxury get away for couples, and puppers.

Taking full advantage of the peaceful setting, The Stables has a large private, secure garden with covered, decked area overlooking the river valley and hill views to the west. Perfect for a relaxing evening in the hot tub or barbecue on our huge outdoor kitchen.

The Stables - Bankshill

This was the third time we have visited The Stables and it was outstanding yet again. A lovely welcome basket left for us and the hot tub heated and ready for us on arrival. We had collected a Chinese enroute and enjoyed that before an evening dip. The Stables was immaculately clean and our time there was just perfect. We had taken our Ninja Slush maker and made use of this all through the weekend. We have already booked to return again next year. Would highly recommend.

Valentine/Birthday weekend

Absolutely gorgeous little property, amazing location and very comfy bed ! Could not find one fault and the bar is a fun little addition to the stay.

Perfect

Thank you Paul and Fiona for a lovely stay in your beautiful cottage. The bed was so comfy and we both slept really well. Special thanks to Paul for the lovely ‘welcome’ when we arrived and who kept our hot tub going. Thanks to you both for the lovely welcome treats and Prosecco, we also enjoyed the breakfast pack with eggs from your hens. Fiona you have wonderful design taste, you can see how much love and effort you have both put into making ‘The Stables’ a wonderful haven for your guests.
We made some lovely memories together. Hard to leave our lovely comfy cottage with private garden, beautiful views, outdoor kitchen, wood fired hot tub and ‘The Firkin Hell’ bar, though we managed to drag ourselves away and visited Lockerbie, Moffat and Dumfrice. Favourite memories, Whisky distillery at Annendale where we couldn’t leave without purchasing a bottle of ‘Man of words’ single malt, Kings Arms Lockerby for dinner and Cafe 91 for breakfast, visited Burns House and Museum and The Globe Inn Dumfrice, Cafe Ariete and the famous toffee shop in Moffat, Castle Loch in the village of Lochmaben and we also made a very special visit to Tundergarth Church and the Pan am flight 103 memorial for the 270 people killed over Lockerbie in 1988 and the memorial garden in Sherwood Crescent for the 7 Lockerbie Village victims. We have already recommended to family and friends and would love to return for another visit.

Fabulous midweek break at The Stables, Bankshill

Second visit to the Stables. Just as good as last year. Perfect private getaway. Excellent hosts. Booked for next year already.

Had a lovely stay at the Stables. The accommodation was beautiful and clean. Just the peaceful get-away we needed. Hot tub outside, overlooking the stunning countyside . Very private and secluded. Fiona and Paul (hosts) couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

Fabulous stay
