Lakefront Modern Chalet with Multiple King Beds

We stayed at 212 Chalet this past weekend and absolutely loved our time there! The house is beautifully crafted, the owners thought of everything and were very timely in responding to our questions or requests. 6 of us stayed (3 adults, 3 kids) and there was plenty of room. Highly recommend bringing your coffee out to the rocking chairs on the deck and watch for early morning wildlife. We saw a bald eagle every day there, often swooping down to grab fish and cruising right over us. I love to cook on trips and couldn’t have been happier to see loads of proper cookware and actually a set of good, sharp knives! It’s the little things like this that make us really appreciate a fantastic rental.

We took full advantage of the house, cooked, grilled, used the fire pit, took the kids out on the kayaks and played board games. Also had a nice collection of architecture books that I personally found very interesting. Unfortunately when we were there (August), the lake had a decent amount of grass off the dock so fishing wasn’t as successful as we hoped, but there were plenty of pontoons and bass boats on the lake, an old-timer said he recently caught a 5lb’er so we will have to come back and try again! Plus, the eagle sure didn’t seem to have any issues finding fish.

We also took advantage of both the beach and pool within the Big Bass Lake Association complex. Perfect spots for kids to run around, swim, the food at the pool was definitely a step above your typical swim club snack bar. Pool fills up quick on the weekends, I'd recommend getting there right at 11am when it opens.

A shop rite is 10 mins down the road so was easy to stock up, plenty of eateries close by. We personally ate at Lombardi’s, literally 2 mins down the road, solid bar food and we took advantage of the wing special on Friday 😉

Stopped at Barley Creek Brewing on our way, about 30 mins south of 212 Chalet. Nice brewery with a great outdoor setup for kids and adults alike, lots of games to keep the kiddos busy, lots of seating and has live music.

Can’t wait to plan our next trip back to 212 Chalet!

Great house and location! Perfect combination of relaxing atmosphere with things to do close by.

We stayed at 212 Chalet for a weekend getaway and all I can say is, WOW. Every single detail was thoughtfully curated, the house stocked with everything you need to have a wonderful getaway. The drive was smooth and simple from the Philly area, and upon arrival we were greeted by friendly and helpful community staff. We checked in and easily made our way to the property, where we enjoyed a weekend of luxurious and peaceful relaxation on the waters of the lake. We took the kayaks out for a spin, enjoyed mornings on the wraparound porch, and spent time discovering local hidden gem businesses and restaurants. We were able to easily detour into Jim Thorpe on the way back to the city, just a short drive from 212!

The owners of 212 Chalet have truly thought of everything and have crafted a wonderful, peaceful experience. It’s the perfect home base for a weekend of adventuring, or simply lounging around the gorgeous furniture and outdoor amenities and soaking up the sun and sounds of the lake.

I highly recommend 212 to anyone looking for a relaxing mountain getaway!
