🌿 Nature & Location 🌿
One of the things our guests love most is that this is a real lake house in nature, not a hotel or resort.
You'll enjoy towering trees, wildlife, peaceful lake views, fresh mountain air, and a place where families gather to unplug and spend time together.
Because this is a privately owned home rather than a commercial resort, there will occasionally be normal signs of home ownership and ongoing maintenance. Just like your own home, we are constantly improving, repairing, upgrading, and replacing items between guests.
Our home sits on a wooded lot directly on the lake. Nature is part of the experience.
Depending on the season you may encounter:
• wildlife
• birds
• deer
• insects
• pollen
• leaves
• pine needles
• humidity
• rain
• snow
• muddy trails
Outdoor equipment—including kayaks, life jackets, paddle boat, docks, grills, and outdoor furniture—is exposed to the elements. We clean and maintain everything regularly, but we also intentionally avoid excessive use of harsh chemicals because preserving the natural environment is important to us.
🗑️ Trash Disposal 🗑️
There are no outdoor trash bins at the home. All trash must be taken to the community compactor. Operating hours and directions will be provided in your welcome message.
📸 Security Cameras 📸
An exterior camera is located near the garage/entrance. It records video for safety and liability purposes (e.g., break-ins, unregistered pets, over-occupancy). It does not monitor any private spaces. There are no cameras are inside the house.

Booking this property implies agreement to all house rules and policies. We’re always happy to answer any questions to ensure your stay is everything you hope for. We'd much rather have the opportunity to make it right during your stay than hear about it afterward.

Camp Cottontail Lakeside

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful 5 days in this beautiful and peaceful lakefront house. You could not ask for more from a Pocono house. Being surrounded by so much beauty and nature outside plus so much space to relax inside. My 5 year old daughter and 7 year old niece loved taking boat rides across the lake to the awesome lake beach, making smores at the picture perfect lakefront fire pit, hand feeding the friendly deer and playing with all the games in the huge game room filled with all kinds of fun things for them. We also really enjoyed the beautiful lakefront elevated deck, spacious fishing dock and bringing our golden retriever along with us on the trip. Our only regret was not booking a longer trip but we hope to remedy that in the future. Would rent this house again in a heartbeat it had everything we wanted and more.

So much Beauty!

This was our family’s second year in a row staying here. We just love it so much. Such a peaceful and beautiful place. The reflection of the lake on the water looks like a water color painting. We had two kids, a baby and our golden retriever with us and could not have been happier with our stay.

2nd Time Back!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The setting was just perfect: the house is on a quiet side street with almost no traffic; we enjoyed the beautiful lakeside view from the deck; all was very quiet and peaceful, both during the day and in the evening and overnight hours. We were equally comfortable eating out on the deck or in the dining room. The bathrooms, especially, were very clean and the showers wonderful!  Homeowner was very responsive when we contacted him. We had 2 children with us, ages 3 and 7, who really had a good time there all week. There are at least 4 supermarkets within 10 miles, so shopping was easy. We enjoy nature walks with the kids, and especially recommend the nearby Wildlands Conservancy's Thomas Darling Preserve on Rt 940 about a mile from Locust Lake. In sum this is a great choice for families wanting a quiet, comfortable, picturesque, lakeside home!
