We absolutely loved the location and the care that went into designing the apartment, the pool area and the garden. It's a place we could have stayed forever. I love the focus on sustainability as well. The hotel staff was very caring, the went the extra mile and it was overall a very family-like experience. Little suggestion for improvement: the kitchens could be a bit better equipped with e.g. olive oil and vinegar to have the basics ready for cooking, there was only salt & pepper.

Unfortunately the restaurant Magma did not meet our expectations at all. There is a big discrepancy in quality and experience between the two. The waiters don't seem to care and like their job very much (e.g. they are on the phone for longer periods in the open space, they don't come to clear dishes, they don't really interact with guests). For breakfast it's every day the exact same food, little choice (e.g. no vegetables) and very bad coffee.

Amazing view & kind staff

We stayed 5 nights in the beautiful settings of the Lava Homes. Views are fantastic on Sao Jorge and Pico (when no clouds)! Kitchen is well equipped and the pool is really warm all year round. Beds and pillows are comfortable. You will find towels for the pool and everything you need. The downsides are as follows: parking is very abrupt. When not used to that, it could be very scary. Also, if you have a hard time to walk, it’s not the place to be. You will have to climb from your house to the restaurant for the breakfast and it is quite steep. Think about it before booking. We also observed a few times that the restaurant and the casa are 2 different owners and we can feel it as a customer. Should not be like that. Breakfast is ok: not the range of a 4 or 5 stars.

Awesome view

We spent three exceptional days at Lava Homes on the island of Pico. Everything was absolutely perfect. The setting is stunning, with breathtaking views that invite you to relax. The restaurant is a real highlight: whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, everything is delicious and of high quality.

The wellness facilities are also top-notch, perfect for unwinding and fully enjoying the experience.

The place is ideal for recharging, and we loved every moment. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the whole team for the outstanding hospitality!

Breathtaking Views and Ultimate Relaxation at Lava Homes

We stayed for 3 nights at Casa das Pocas and everything about our stay was exceeded expectations. From the moment we arrived, Anna went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The home was clean, kitchen was well stocked, and the home and outdoor space were beautiful. The location is very relaxing and we were not ready to leave at the end of it. The included breakfast was great, but the kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook. I also highly recommend dinner at Magma restaturant. The tuna steak was to die for. Can't say enough good things about this property!

Perfect Stay

We had a lovely stay at Lava homes. As soon as you arrive you know you are in for a special stay. It's clear everything is done with love from the expansive gardens, to the views to the privacy of each home.

The pool had breathtaking views which was perfect for priceless family photos and play time. The breakfasts were simple, but delicious and high quality.

Lava homes makes it difficult to stay anywhere else, truly bringing the magic that Pico has to offer to life. The property is a steep hillside, so definitely follow the recommendations to enter the property from the ocean side, much easier than trying to access your parking spot from the mountain side.

Highly recommend and thank you to the Lava Homes staff for an unforgettable stay!
