Your own corner of Andalusia, right beside the pool

Casa Valyria is the first of two apartments at Posada Aurora, our small finca between the olive groves on the edge of the Sierrezuela nature park, just outside the village of Posadas and about 35 minutes from the historic centre of Córdoba. It is made for guests who want quiet, nature and privacy — with the comfort of a home that has been finished down to the last detail.

Step out of one side and you are on your own private terrace, looking out over the surrounding hills and over our animals grazing in the field. Step out of the other and you are at the pool. Mornings here start slowly, with coffee and the sound of the horses; afternoons tend to end in the water.

Inside

The apartment sleeps up to two adults and two children.

Bedroom — two single beds (90 × 200 cm), wardrobe, air conditioning

Living room — comfortable seating area with a smart TV, and a sofa bed (180 × 200 cm) that easily sleeps two more

Bathroom — walk-in shower, washbasin, toilet (child seat reducer available), hairdryer and drying rack

Kitchen — fully equipped for six: fridge, freezer, four-burner hob, combination microwave oven, filter coffee machine, kettle, a full set of pans, crockery, glassware and cutlery

Air conditioning throughout, free wifi, a garden room, free parking on site and a washing machine on request. Bed linen and towels are included: fresh bed linen once a week, and a fresh bath towel per guest every two days.

On the finca

Posada Aurora is a working finca as much as a place to stay, and guests are welcome to be part of it.

Swimming pool with views over the hills, a few steps from your terrace

Horses — guided rides through the surrounding landscape, for beginners and experienced riders

Donkeys — Sansa and Arya are always up for a gentle walk through the Sierrezuela, a favourite with children

Mountain bikes for hire, with trails starting directly behind the gate

Pool safety: children who cannot yet swim must wear armbands or a life vest in and around the pool at all times.

Extra services

Fresh bread delivered each morning — order before 8 pm the evening before (small charge)

Grocery service — send us your shopping list before you arrive and we will have everything waiting (small charge)

Small children's package — €5 per day: travel cot or bed rail, playpen, step stool, changing mat and a high chair. A second cot, bed rail or high chair is €2 per day.

Children's toys on request — €2 per day plus a €50 deposit: baby toys, outdoor toys, Duplo, Lego, cars and garage, Playmobil, K'NEX and board games

The area

Posadas sits between the Guadalquivir valley and the wooded hills of the Sierra Morena. Córdoba, with its Mezquita and old Jewish quarter, is a 35-minute drive; Seville is around an hour. Walking and cycling routes start at the gate, and several filming locations from Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon are within easy reach — which is where both of our apartments get their names.
