2BR Mews House in Wanstead – Steps to High Street & Tube

Second time we have stayed at Adrian and Renata’s place. Definitely the best Airbnb we have stayed in the area. Renata is always very responsive and helpful.Wanstead is a great place (we lived here previously for over 20 years) and perfect for visiting locally and into London on the central line.

Wanstead is a great place

First sight of the property is marred by the scruffy neighbouring properties, but thankfully the property itself is well maintained and spotlessly clean. Just a couple of suggestions for additions - as seniors, we would have appreciated a non slip mat in the bathroom. Also a chair in each of the bedrooms would be useful, as would a coffee table by the sofa (to avoid spills on the carpet!). Thankfully the stairs were manageable . In terms of the general area, we found it peaceful with no traffic noise. At the time we were there the Tube strikes were on. We used Snaresbrook Tube station at first but it has a large number of steps, so we preferred Wanstead station instead. We downloaded the City Mapper app which proved useful to find local bus routes and the Elizabeth line, which were good when the Tube was off. Highly recommend Filika restaurant on Wanstead High Street, walkable via Nightingale Lane. Adrian and Renata very good AirBNB hosts -we enjoyed our stay.

Adrian and Renata very good hosts -we enjoyed our stay.

We travelled down to London as our daughter was running the marathon. We had booked our accomodation last year, however, there was a bit of an issue that came to light a couple of weeks before we were due to go, however, Renata was fabulous and sorted everything for us, which was greatly appreciated. We were also travelling with a 15 month, old which can add to the stress levels, but the added bonus of a cot bed and high chair made things much easier for us. Plus the spacious lounge/diner meant he had the room to run around too!! Wanstead High Street was literally 5 mins away with lots of eateries and takeaways, which was fab!! Thankfully we were also able to park the car right outside our accommodation, which was a massive bonus when it came to loading and unloading. Thank you for making our stay so memorable 🤗

The flat was perfect. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, especially the fans which were a lifesaver in the hot weather we had.We loved the location and it was nice to stay in a quieter part of London away from the hustle and bustle. We explored Wanstead park which was only a short 1 mile walk away and easy access to shops nearby was great. There were lots of really nice places to eat nearby, in particular Piccolos and Bobo and wild. Only small issue we had was the loudness of the takeaway drivers outside the bedroom but thats nothing that can be helped. The hosts Adrian and Renata were really friendly and gave clear instructions for check in etc and were always available to chat to and ask questions if needed. Would highly recommend a stay here and would happily book again.Ben
